My fiance and I are going to be at DW in late January, 2011. We have our dinner reservations made but are trying to find someplace for breakfast one day. A co-worker says that the breakfast buffet at the Grand Floridian is the best. I know it's a character breakfast and since it's just the 2 of us I feel kinda funny about 2 adults going to a character breakfast. Help! Where would you suggest for a great breakfast? We're on the dining plan and plan on using our sit down for the day for breakfast. Thanks!

I have heard that Kona Cafe at the Poly has some AWESOME breakfast. I am not a breakfast person so this would not appeal to me. Also, I have been to character breakfast buffets when it is just two adults. It was fun and fine. No need to interact with characters if you don't want to, but of course, always fun if you decide to. You can't go wrong either way. I have also heard that going to Crystal Palace at MK before Park Opening is fun because you are in the parks before everyone else. Go on a non-EMH day and get there by 8 a.m.

The best breakfast I have ever had at disney is Cape May at the Beach Club. It is buffet style and they have a great selction of foods to choose from. Just so you know, it's a character meal. If you didn't want to go there then O'Hana at the Poly is just as good.

agree - this is a great choice. If something is missing given the CM a few minutes and they will have stocked it.

have done Cape May Cafe solo - and loved it.

the food is excellent.

now this one is hard to get too - but no characters and it is also buffet

trail end at FW. you need to go to the MK or CR or WL and take the boat to FW. or if you want something different - whispering canyon at WL is definitely different.

also love Kona Cafe

Boma at the AKL is my choice for breakfast, this is the only breakfast ressie that we make. The juice is worth the whole price of breakfast. It is a buffet.

I say this but have not tried the others suggested by the other posters, you can always look at the menus for each and see what strikes you.

Thanks all. I've printed off several menus and will run them by my fiance and see what he thinks. Since this is our first trip without any kids we're looking for quiet and romantic. You've got some great suggestions!:wizard:

Your co-worker is right. Boma is good too. But out of all the places in WDW I've been to for breakfast, 1900 Park Fare was the best. I wouldn't worry about the characters. Just have some strawberry soup for me! :p

Grand Floridian Cafe would be the best, especially for a quieter, more romantic setting. Kona Cafe is also quite nice. Boma is our favorite for a buffet setting.

I like the :ccat:skillet breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe in WL. Just take the resort monorail to Contemporary, go to the boat launch and take the WL boat.

My husband and I went for our Honeymoon and ate at Kona and Crystal Palace for Breakfast. We loved both and yes, we even got our pictures taken with the characters at Crystal Palace. There were other couples there. We are going back in February and have made reservations at Kona again and also Boma. So excited. Kona really is fantastic IMO.

of all our meals for next week, we only have one breakfast adr and that is at Kona. I LOVE Kona, altho Boma is good, too.

If you're looking for a quiet and romantic breakfast, there aren't many options.

I would avoid character breakfasts, as those will always be louder. I would check out Grand Floridian Cafe and maybe The Wave, but I can't comment on the food since I haven't eaten at either one of those places. I know Kouzzina serves breakfast, but that place is super noisy!

Kona gets a lot of good breakfast reviews, but I've eaten dinner there and because the restaurant is very open to the lobby, it can be quite loud.

Where are you staying? If you're at CSR or a deluxe resort, the best option for quiet and romatic would probably be room service.

If you decide you just want good food in a fun atmosphere, and can save quiet and romantic for a dinner, I would highly suggest Crystal Palace or Cape May Cafe.

Both are character buffet breakfast, but there's nothing wrong with 2 adults going. I've done it several times with parties of just adults and we have a great time. Characters are usually good at reading how much interaction you want. The reason I suggest these places is mostly because I think the food is really yummy! Cape May is a bit quieter than Crystal Palace, and also much easier to get an ADR for. Also, if you book a time that is right when they begin serving or closer to the end of the breakfast hours, the restaurant will not be as full and thus less crowded and not as noisy.

My mom and I and sometimes one of my friends tags along for a character meal or two when we visit. (Mom's 59, I'm 28, friend just turned 30.) They're usually pretty noisy, but its a great way to get the picture taking out of the way if you want your picture with a specific character.

We did 1900 in August and I won't do it again. They had way too many tables for it being a buffet and in some places it was hard to get by everyone. They were horribly unorganized and it can take awhile to be seated (we weren't allowed to skip the photo to get to our table sooner, which was really annoying). We were half an hour early and they were an hour behind! The food was good, but so wasn't worth all the other mess we had to deal with.

We loved Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace, though.

I've seen some great pictures from the Wave for breakfast. I have not eaten there, but the pics looked pretty good! If you want to go to a character buffet, don't worry about not having kids. We are two adults and go to plenty of character buffets on our own. They are noisy but especially if you like the characters they are fun. We love CP because of the Pooh characters. We had fun at 1900 Park Fare, the Mad Hatter was a hoot, but that was three yearsa ago!
