We will be at Aulani in 30 days, and I know room requests are just that, a request and not guaranteed, but I'd like to have more of an ocean view than a pool view. I know several of the ocean view rooms also overlook the pool.

We are in a Studio room. Is there a particular area of a tower that I'll be able to a more unobstructed view of the ocean? I'm definitely requesting a higher floor, but if anyone has any suggestions for a great ocean view studio room, that would be awesome.

There are no views that are JUST the ocean, you're going to have the ocean and [something else], fill in the blank.

That [something else] is either going to be the pool, the Four Seasons, or the lu'au lawn. So the recommendation will depend on *why* you think you want to avoid overlooking the pool.

These are the approximate locations of all of the Ocean View Studios, rooms ending in XX. Rooms towards the tips of the U shape are closer to the ocean but are more angled. Rooms down by the lobby are further away but face the ocean more directly.

This was room 1156. I specifically requested this area because the angle is one of the best for the view of the ocean. If I’m not mistaken it had the best sunset view too. I felt like the glow at sunset was really prominent from this angle.

That is an awesome view! Did you get a lot of pool noise?
We were hardly ever in the room during the daytime but everything shuts down early at Aulani and the pools were empty by bedtime. The only noise you could hear in the room was the live music in the Olelo Room directly below us. The music was beautiful so we left the sliding glass doors open most nights and fell asleep to it.

Agreed, fantastic ambiance.

That sounds magical 😍

There was one night where the American Idol contestants were doing what sounded like karaoke and it was coming from Olelo, not the rehearsal stage. That night we kept the doors closed.

I don't blame you!

One common complaint you might read about Aulani is that the beds don't have big heavy comforters on the beds, just light blankets. I would highly recommend not cranking the air conditioning like you would in Florida and instead trying to sleep with the doors open and ceiling fan on, as long as the weather and noise cooperate.
