Hello, it has been years since I've posted here and since we've been to Disney. It is going to be an adults only trip with myself and DH to celebrate our 20th anniversary! We have chosen to stay at Asmu. We will be there May 21-25. We stayed there years ago in 2009, but I'm sure things have changed a lot since then. We had mixed feelings about the resort then, but it wasn't awful. I chose this resort because I figured it would be more adult out of the values and this has to be a value trip. And because Pop is going through renovations and I didn't want to deal with that. Anyways, any advice on room requests or just any advice at all about this resort? We stayed in the Broadway section back in 2009 and it seemed a little far, so wasn't sure how to request a room. Thanks!

If you want to be close to the dining and buses, and it fits the budget, then preferred rooms are a good idea at ASMu, IMO. If you want quiet, you might want to request facing away from the pool area. We also like to request 3rd floor so there is no one above us flushing toilets. LOL!

Oh, I think that you might be able to book a King bed here? I'm not sure if it is a request or bookable at AS. Sorry!

Have a great anniversary!

Thanks! There wasn't an option that I saw to book a king room. And I am thinking about changing to preferred now.

King as a bookable category is in the moderate resorts, not value.

My wife and i are in our 60's. We go to WDW every year and we stay at All Star Music every year. We have king beds because we stay in the Preferred (Calypso) section every time. We love this resort, not only for the amenities but we have found the people, the CM's to be more precise to be extra special and just plain friendly. Our stay is always for 7 days and we are returning in November.

I'll second the suggestion above of requesting away from the pool and top floor. We stayed in the Jazz building in December, and we were on the top floor on the back corner by the stairwell that faces the parking lot, and it was absolutely silent back there. We never heard any pool noise or other room noise or anything. We LOVED it!

They have king rooms and one can most definitely request one. But it is a request, not a guarantee. At moderate level hotels, king rooms are a bookable category...thereby guaranteeing one will get a king room. At the value level it is not possible to guarantee that you will get a king room.

Thanks for all of info! We have decided not to pay extra for preferred. It is an extra $116 and we just can't justify spending the extra. So I am thinking about requesting a room in the Broadway Section top floor. Do they have king rooms in that section? I know it's not a guarantee but I don't want to request something that doesn't exist.

I stayed there last November and requested Jazz and ground floor. I was placed on the backside of the Jazz building facing landscaping. It was an easy walk to cut through the middle of the building to get to my room and quiet back there. The food court and dining area were remodeled a few years ago and I think are much more civilized than Pop, which was previously my resort home. I will be staying at Music again over Halloween week.

Yes there are King rooms in Broadway and on the top floor. Counting both buildings 7 and 8, there are at least 12 on the top floor.

We love ASM! Weve stayed in Jazz before and gotten a king, so they are available. I think that was our 20th anniversary trip too! We always stayed preferred with the kids, but since it became the two of us, we dont mind standard. Have a great trip!!

Ok, I am definitely going to request a king room. Maybe since it's our 20th anniversary we will get it! How do you notate that online?

It's best to call the Main Reservations line and add a request for a King Room to your reservation. This can be done anytime from the day you book up until 4-5 days out.
