Help with AoA booking and Free dining .... Help

I had booked AoA August 25-31 with free dining pin.
Just realized the kids start school on August 29th (duh).

I would like to change my booking to be from 25 to the 28th, will I be able to do that and keep the free dining or will this count as a new reservation?

I then want to book AoA from the 22nd - 24th using the 15% room discount rate. Will I be able to add on tickets and dining plan to that? or if I book a package I can't get the 15% discount?

Thanks for your help overall I will probably pay more than my original price but I would hate the kids to miss the whole first week of school. Any help is apprieciated.

In order two use two discounts, You will have two completely separate reservations.

In order to get free dining, you have to purchase a package which includes tickets. Being able to get free dining depends on whether or not there are still any rooms available at the discount.

I would call Disney CRO, and check to see if you can change your reservation and still get free dining. The free dining would only be for the days(2QS or if you upgraded 1 ts and 1 qs meal per night of stay per guest) of your package reservation. You would not receive dining credits for the discount reservation.

Im not sure how the tickets would work since they would be attached to your second reservation. Maybe another diser can answer this for you.

If free dining is not available for any of your dates then maybe a room discount is. I would try to get free dining for your entire vacation or try to get room discount for entire vacation and make only one reservation, iMHO.

You should be able to do a split stay. Get all of the ticket days you need with the FD package and do what is called "early ticket pickup". You can pick up package tickets up to 3 days early. This may require you to switch rooms, but let the front desk know at checkin that you have two stays booked and they will try to accomodate you. Definitely get a supervisor to do the adjustment to your package, though. Good luck and report back!
