Just got this for our upcoming trip (leaving Friday). I cannot get it to play back on our tv. We have bought two different mini HDMI to HDMI cords, and exchanged the device already. Seems so simple, and I can't find anything online with anyone else having the same problem. Any help/suggestions????

This will sound stupid but do you have an HD-TV? About the only thing I can think of is to make sure it's not a problem actually with your TV, maybe take the Flip to a friend/neighbor's house to see if you can get it to work on someone else's system.

We have 2 Flips, the original 60-minute on and then the newer HD 120-minute one. My DD loves them & they're super-easy to use.

Yep. Our main tv is 1080 p, and my son has a small flat screen that has HDMI inputs as well. The screen on the flip goes black, but TV says no signal.

We're working on it, I've asked my DD and this is what she came up with so far...

Are you sure you've recorded some footage?
When you playback within the Flip itself, not having it hooked up to a PC or an HDTV, can you see the 'film' you just made?

She said she doesn't think the screen should go black.

Are there any Flip forums on the Internet where you can ask about your camera issues?

Ok this sounds patronizing, but I've made this mistake.... are you sure you have your tv set to the right input channel? We use the cable that came with the Flip, and plug it into the front of the tv, where there are the inputs. Then we have to set the tv, using the remote, to "video 3." Just a thought.

eta: obviously, yours may be a different channel, but I was just using mine as an example.

Dpesn't sound patronizing at all...I am seriously at a loss here and I welcome any suggestions.

On our main TV, we have an HDMI switch box that will connect three different HDMI devices. The other two work. This does not. We've tried hooking it directly to the tv via the import with the source tuned to HDMI input. Other tv is even simpler...but still won't work.

But, I'll play around with the remote to see if I can figure any thing out.

At least this second model that we got has not given me the "Its too hot" warning or whatever the message was. It is actually fully charged.

Electronics and I are not compatible at the moment.

Does the Flip work when you download content to your computer?

Oh, thought of something else...what kind of batteries are you using? Are you using the rechargeable-pack that comes with it? Maybe try just some regular AAs.

I remember reading something about the rechargeable pack maybe not working or something...here it is, from Amazon.Com...

Make sure that you have a second generation Flip Video Ultra before you order the battery pack. Amazon still sells the 1st generation Flip Video Ultra and there is no compatible battery pack for that model. I found out the hard way.
