Hello!
If you glance at my signature you can tell I have no experience in choosing a hotel off WDW property!
In late June we will be in the Orlando vicinity and want to spend 3 nights there in order to visit US/IOA for the 1st time and possibly SeaWorld as well.
I know there are TONS of hotels that we can choose from but I have 3 that I've heard about directly from people who have stayed at each of these. The problem is that only of their stay involved visiting the park so I'm a little unsure of the areas around the other places.
The 3 were are considering are:
Four Points by Sheraton Orlando Studio City-- 2 Queen beds
Hilton Grand Vacations Club on I-Drive (Tuscan themed resort)--King Whirlpool Suite w/sofabed
Hilton Grand Vacations Club SeaWorld--Queen studio w/sofabed
The Four Points is less expensive by $22 total for the 3 nights, the other 2 are are within a couple dollars of each other. We are used to staying in a 1 bedroom DVC when we visit WDW so I am thinking each Hilton will be close to that experience. The reason I looked into the Sheraton is based on the info on Mousesavers that said the Four Points was close to Universal.
So give me some advice, if you were pretty much focusing your time of Universal and wanted a nice, relaxing hotel that was very clean and in a decent location in terms of traffic/parking what would you choose? My DH is most concerned because one night in June/July when visiting WDW we drove our rental off property & got stuck in some nasty traffic on I-Drive so he convinced the same will happen wherever we stay, lol!
