Help with a couple of questions please.

1) Has anyone had anything shipped to their room? Thinking about having a big present secretly delivered to our room while we are at the parks. If yes, then ...Wondering if CMs will hold it for you to pick up at the hotel, or if they'll agree to take it to your room?

2) Do the Chase Visa Meet and Greet characters change during the Holidays, or is it always Minnie and Stitch?

3) Where all, particularly at restaurants, can one use Disney Gift Cards? Thinking about getting some instead of the Dining Plan.

We didn't see Stitch last week (Thanksgiving week), but Minnie was there both times we stopped by. She was wearing regular non-holiday clothes.

Definitely don't do the dinning plan. Gift cards are used at all restaurants except some of the snack carts. Pretty sure you can use them in some restaurants on Downtown Disney too

We had the same experience EXCEPT some of the restaurants wouldn't let the tip be put on the card. Now I make sure to have enough cash on hand for the tip.

I have had packages delivered to the hotel, in my case they did not take it to the room but held it at the front desk and I picked it up. In that case it wasn't an issue as it was simply trading pins. I did order something from vacation planning and that was delivered to the room.

don't do the dining plan, it really isn't great at all, nothing like WDW's dining plan. It won't save you any money and you will probably end up losing money to be honest. Just get gift cards and use them instead. Gift cards are accepted in the parks and in the hotel restaurants, they may be accepted at some DTD restaurants as well. Make sure you do have some cash as you should leave tips in cash and you should have cash for the snack carts, not all of them are able to accept cards.
