My son says to me tonight, 'What is that answer, that saying you give when it means maybe? Like if I said to you, can we go to Disneyland, what would your answer be?......

He says it is maybe something about time, but not time will tell.

It is driving us all nuts trying to figure out what he is saying! He says I always say it and Grama does too!! Any answers for us out there?

In due time?

I have no idea...I'm curious, although I don't think "In due time" would mean maybe.

All I came up with is "We will see" but that doesn't have time anywhere in it.

I sometimes answer "Maybe next time." Could that be it? :confused3

I wonder if he doesn't mean it actually had the word "time" in it, maybe more like it just has something to do with time? Like, "Ask me later," or something along those lines?

I'm sure the next time you say it, he'll be like "THAT'S what I was talking about!" (Either that or you'll ask him if that's what he meant, and he will have totally forgotten and look at you like you're crazy -- kids!)
