We will be in Orlando the 1st 2 weeks of august. We are 2 families/4 adults and 3 kids between 10 and 13 yrs. Both these resorts seem to have great feedback. My question is whether a 4 bedroom villa in one is larger/roomier than in the other to accomodate 2 families more comfortably.
Is one preferable to the other for any reason? We prefer a little quieter as opposed to crowdwd and bustling with activity to recover from days at theme parks. Would love to hear from those of you who have stayed at either or both.
Thanks.

Hi...We have a home in Emerald Island and are familiar with WP. Either will have a new well kept home with pool.
These are Florida style homes and although there may be some sq.ft. variations they are all pretty similar.
The big difference for our guests is number of bathrooms and location of bathrooms and bedrooms.
I trust there is one master suite with private bath and maybe two. Two ensuite baths are usually preferred as each couple has their privacy and a place to shower and dress without sneaking down the hallway.
Either EI or WP will have homes with 4bedrooms/2 baths or 4 bedrooms/3baths or 5/2 or 5/3 or 6/4 and so on.
In my opinion two master suites keeps the peace and privacy for adults and the 3rd bath is for the kids and is usually the one in the hall between two twin or bunk bed rooms.

As far as location EI is defintely 5 minutes closer to Disney. It may be only two minutes closer from the front gates to each, but WP is a very large developement and you can drive a long way in WP to get to the entrance.

Either is closer than 70% of rentals on 192 west or out on Hwy 27

Hope this helps. You won't go wrong for location or quality of home...just make sure you know the bathroom and bedroom set up.

Best Wishes for a great time...Ted

I agree with Ted. Both are very comparable. We have stayed at Windsor and loved it. Haven't stayed at Emerald but have heard nothing but good things about it. I don't think there is any major size difference between the homes. Pick the best deal and you'll be fine in either location.

Steve

Thank you both for your opinions! Now it's coming down to the crunch and I have to make some decision-just waiting for some responses from EI-being the travel planner for our group and this being eberyone's first time in Orlando, I just want everything to be right.
I agree about the bathrooms-3 would be preferable.

Thanks again.

I was just going to post about WP....us and another family are planning a trip in Oct, and before I book, I wanted to ask around.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Hi Oret...IMHO, If you are the one that is supposed to "get it right" I would look at 5 bedroom/ 3bath or 4 bedroom 3 bath only with two ensuite baths. I would look for King beds in Both bedrooms. Our home is 7 bedroom 6 bath and we have only Kings and twins...Kings for the adults in 3 separate suites and twins for the kids.

I would much rather your family say "I am sure glad we paid an extra 10 of so dollars an night, but wow what a great place and we love our own bath" than get there and feel cramped all week for a low low price.
For the heck of it, I searched a little for the first two weeks in August and it is a little slim for EI or WP for two pvt suites...
I did find a really nice place at Formosa Gardens ( to confuse you even more!) which is right next to Emerald Island and much closer to Disney than WP...It actually is THE most expensive property for rental homes in Orlando. We did not buy there because it was to darn expensive and if you drive through you will see why. This 5 bedroom 3 bath look very nice....take a look and see what you think. You could not go wrong at Formosa Gardens.
Have fun shopping, Ted

Great advice about the bathrooms! I'll keep that in mind when I plan our next family trip (soon?).

I booked a group of us in a 3BR 3BA condo at Cypress pointe GV and I'm convinced that it was the 3rd bathroom that kept everyone happy. We were only 6 people but 4 women. If you think about it, with just 2 baths one will be ensuite in a master bedroom and used by 2 people. That leaves EVERYONE ELSE to share the one other bath. How crazy would that be with 2 families?

Oret...Shopping for the homes is half the fun...so enjoy and you can feel free to email me via this site if I can answer any other questions.

What I tell our "planner" when I talk with them about our home is "You get the biggest fanciest master bedroom, no questions asked cuz you earned it!!!!"...............Ted
