I want to book a condo at Windsor Hills to make our trip a little more economical. There are sooooo many!!! I need a 2 bed-does anyone have any experience with any of them? I really need help. I feel like I'm in over my head :confused3

Thanks so very much-

floridasunvacationhomes.com was highly recommended on these boards. I was very impressed with their prices and how nice the houses/condos/townhouses looked. I went ahead and booked something through them for our upcoming trip. If you check them out, I think you'll be imipressed.

I booked with Magical Memories Villas through Orbitz.com. They have two types of condos on Orbitz - regular and Elite (Magical Memories Villas also has Budget condos on their website but Orbitz's price for the regular and elite condos were cheaper). I called Magical Memories Villas and they told me that their Elite condos are located at Windsor Hills.

I booked a two bedroom Elite condo for $86.37/night (before taxes). Orbitz has a $100 off coupon for a 5 night or longer stay (must be booked by August 31st for stays through November 15th) so my total with tax for a 6 night stay is $507.

Just as a note - I have never used this company before so I am not endorsing them, I'm just passing on some information.

I understand.;)
I had put in a request just to get an idea of how much a ten day stay
was, and got about 8 responses.
With totals between 600.00 to 1000.00 for our stay.
So, I would have to figure out which one had the best location.
And, which one I would enjoy staying in the most.
Most responses had pictures of their condo.
I think I just need to find a map, print it, and figure
out where each one is located.:confused3
:confused3 How did everyone else choose their condo?:confused3
I think I would rather work directly with the owner, than a company.:thumbsup2

WE lookes at windsorhills rents and made sure we had a good working number to the owners and called them directley before booking online or paying online. I looked at the deposit amount as some want 20 percent while others want 200.00 or 500 flat. We also considered the cancellation policy they had. We asked lots of questions and had them compare their condo to staying on site. We did not think we would need a private swim area sense we will be doing water parks and the place has a pool at Winsor hills . We also considered the more we saved the more we had to spend. These are our ways as some are 600-1000 a week and the middle to lower range is where we ended up. I am still looking even though we are booked for one that stands out as they all seem pretty much the same with different furnishings and all pretty standard furnishings so If we happen to see one that screams out at us we still have time

Hi there! :)
I rented direct from the owner of this condo www.orlandocondogetaway.com and had no trouble at all! Great clean condo in building 8 top floor overlooking the pool. Had no trouble dealing direct with the owner at all. Please feel free to PM me if you wish to know any more!

PS LuvindisCruiser - looks like we are going to WDW at the same time!!! I thought I was the only one looking so far in advance!!! Have fun planning!!!

I know I have a while to go, but if I'm not planning a Disney trip I am
just not a happy girl !!!:cloud9:
When you go in 2010 are you staying in a condo again ?
The condo you rented looked really nice, even the website had a
catchy tune !!!
I bookmarked it for Future reference!;)

here is a map I found while investigating my own WH trip. :)

We needed a 3 bedroom so I looked and looked on vrbo.com. I also put a request in on windsorhillsrent.com. I got a ton of responses so I weeded through them, but I really wanted building 8 overlooking the pool. I found one and the owners have been great. During peak season (Easter) I'm getting a 3 bedroom condo for $125 a night and it's really Mickey Mouse themed to boot!! I might have been able to find something cheaper, but I really wanted something nice so that I wouldn't feel jipped staying offsite. And some trips are more budget than others, right? This time I could spend a little more.

Just ask a lot of questions and decide what things are MOST important to you in a condo and make sure the condo has them. Then YOU will be happy.

Good luck and happy planning.

At Windsor Hills, you can get a 3 bdrm for about the same price as a two. We are renting at WH for Oct/Nov. Found our condo on homeaway.com. So far, owners have been very easy to deal with.

I have researched renting a condo, and this is what I consider:

Does at least one bedroom have a king-size bed?

Are the walls plain, or is there some color? This may be unimportant to some, but I can't stand plain white walls.

Distance to the main pool.

Cancellation/deposit policies.

Do they add on a cleaning charge? Most owners waive the cleaning charge if you stay longer than 5 or 7 days, but some still charge you for one.

Is baby equipment included?

Check in procedures-do you have to drive to a management co. or do they have a key pad at the front door?

Of course these things may not be important to everyone, but when there are sooo many for rent, it's a starting point for us. Good luck!

dfarner...........that's a good list. I would agree with those, except I don't need the baby equipment anymore.

Hi there! I think in 2010 (sounds so long to go! :sad2: ) we will be trying a townhouse - I like the idea of the splash pool! Although if the cost gets out of control, I would rethink a condo. I loved it! And the owner I dealt with was really nice. Nothing was too much trouble. And I loved overlooking the pool! Highly recommended!!

I have been researching WH all day. I found a unit for $890.00 total cost including wading pool heat and taxes. This is a 3 bedroom/3 full baths. Pictures look great.

My dates are 12/16/08 till 12/24/08.

Just wondering if this sounds like a good deal?

That sounds like a really good deal. We stayed at windsor hills last year, and we loved it. We went through magical memories. For our next vacation we contacted owners of so many condos that I couldn't sort it all out. My husband made me a spread sheet with web sites, cost, and other features like what floor, and mickey themed or not. It helped me narrow down the choices.

I rented (but haven't been yet) a 2 BR from Katie Lopez. It's listed under dworlando.com/98567. There is good deposit/refund policies and she rents for $80.00 per night. It seems to be in one of the condo buildings closest to the pool too.
