HELP !! Will Airfare Cost Come Down for NOVEMBER ??!!

I booked our airfare for Dec. 23-29th about a month ago from Mke to Mco for $200 per person, and I am glad I did, as I am sure they will get no cheaper!!

Have you tried AirTran? They usually have a couple of non-stop flights a day from DTW to MCO. I looked at your dates and right now they are only booking up to Nov. 15th, but it's only $89.00 one-way for the dates they have open in November. If you wait a few days, they will probably open up their dates past Nov. 15th. With taxes, the total round trip airfare should be about $197.10.

It helps so much to have you guys to chat with about this !
My DH does not want to hear how much more this Disney Vacation is going to cost us YIKES !
I could wait it out for Southwest, Never flew Sounthwest, are they okay ??
Also, am not to familiar with Airtran....
And, Yes It is hard to wait it out, but I will keep trying...
Thanks a Big Bunch for making me feel better !!! :grouphug: :3dglasses :thanks:

Wow--I guess I have a very different idea of low fares! I pulled up your dates on expedia and came up with a fare of $214 on Midway for a direct flight. From Mpls, we would just about faint if we got that low of a fare. DH and I are flying to MCO in Sept and we got a fare of $245 which I thought was a steal and a half.

Funny how different areas have such different prices! And of course, we have the lovely NWA monopoly that provides such a benefit to our state.......

hi,
I'm also waiting to get an okay price on airfare from dtw (or flint) to mco. We will be traveling nov.27- dec 4. I know that if you can travel on a mon or tues it seems to bring down the airfare a bit. I also have been watching airtran's prices (from flint) and though they don't have prices out yet for when I want to travel I have noticed that if you book it through the web, prices seem to be cheaper if you book it (not travel) on a wed or thurs. I also heard that if we wait awhile prices will go down, about 6 mo before a flight is when the airlines prices drop I quess they try to sell them for as much as they can first. On the other hand I'm afraid to wait because gas prices are suppose to go up this summer. I'm kicking myself in the butt because when I first started planning our trip I saw airfare for $202 oh well what are you going to do. I quess we will just have to pray for a price cut. I will keep my eyes out and let you know if prices go down anywhere I'm looking I would love it if you could do the same Thanks and good luck

fwiw, NPR did a story this morning on gas prices and although they are supposed to go up before they come down again, they are not supposed to stay up for very long...and they are predicting they will fall below where they are now. 3 refineries knocked out by Katrina are about to come back online, and there was another reason supply was going to increase but I forget what it was.

HI I told ya I would let you know if I found anything good and I did If your dates are flexible. Hopefully my agent books it before prices go up but we got airfare for tues 11/28-tues 12/5 for 4 for $748 or airtrans out of flint was $988 these are straight flights. These prices are on the indiv airline web site so maybe if you fool around you will find a good price for when you want to go. GOOD LUCK!

We dicided to go w/ spirit out of dtw. we figure if we stay @ a hotel w/ free parking the night before it is $ 200 cheaper then flint and parking there. 200 bucks is 200 bucks ya know what I mean. Flint is a little closer but oh well. In our kids eyes the vaction will start a day early. Were you able to get a good price yet?

I just read my last post it may not have been clear, the $748 was on spirit airlines.

bellenbuzz,

I'm not sure if you're looking for a direct flight, or don't mind a stop or two. My mom just booked her flight for my wedding with NWA for Nov 8-19th and paid around $268/person round trip (taxes included). There were a few cheaper flights on other airlines, but she'll only fly direct. I just checked at NWA.com, and they're offering the same price for your dates as well.

MDM-
was it nonstop?
was it out of Newark? JFK?
PM me if you can. I am spending hours poring over fares for Nov. 7-11!!!
Thanks!

I have read the posts, searched the threads, checked airlines.....
I finally cracked ( with help of DH ) and we booked our Flights....
Here is what we went with........I hope I did OKAY !!!!!

AIRTRAN
from Flint, MI (Bishop Airport) direct to MCO
NON-Stop Flights both ways
Depart 11/11 at 7am arrive MCO at 9:36 am ( So we can enjoy the whole day )
We have Disney Magical Express from the airport
Return 11/18 on a non-stop flight at 7:40pm (can still enjoy lots of the day at WDW), arrive back in Michigan at 10:30pm.
