I would like to know this too. We love POP but I would like to try the theming of the all-stars. My fear solely based on pictures alone, is that the all stars do not have the same lovely atmosphere as POP. Things such as well, landscaped paths, flowers, creative lighting, etc. We were really surprised how nice POP felt.
Will we have the same impression of the all stars? Do you have any pic's?
Thanks!!
We stayed at Sports a few years ago and had a bad experience there. It was crowded and loud late into the night, cigarette butts and empty bottles laying around the grounds and long waits for the bus to name a few things. The worst was that at check-in, we went to our room and found the bed unmade and clothes laying around...it was someone elses room! Imagine if the guests were actually in the room at the time we walked in. So, we had go drag our luggage down two flights of steps, load up the car and go back to the end of the line at check-in.
Last September however, we stayed at ASM and we really liked it. The pool was nice, good choice of foods, pretty flowers and clean. The only thing was we tried to get the towel animals for my daughter and the cleaning staff just didn't understand. They kept bringing stacks of towels. . . no animals.
My choice . . . Movies.
I recommend you stay away from Sports. We also had a bad experience there - with adult ball teams. Very loud, very drunk, using all the ice to cool their beers - did I mention very loud and drunk? The only time we have ever been afraid in our room at Disney.
I do recommend Music. Of course lots of kids - but they weren't drunk and fighting
I haven't stayed at POP but liked Music because it is small, the walk to the food court and buses were short and being music fans we liked the decor.
We stayed there in February and we liked it a lot better than Pop. True, it does fill up with kids at various times (in fact, cheerleaders were there when we were), but that can happen with Music and Movies also. What I liked about Sports was the fact that it was extremely cozy (compared to Pop), with no rooms being far at all from the food court and busses. I also thought the theming was very clever (IMO, better than Pop), and the foliage was excellent considering it's a value resort.
I've read elsewhere (and can see by comparing the two maps) that Music is more spread out than Sports, so if you stay at Music you might consider paying extra for a preferred location (that's what we've done for our Xmas trip, when we're going to try out AS Music for the first time). The walk from the far end of Country Fair to the food and busses is a straight shot but quite long.
We love ASMo. In fact, for our upcoming trip I wanted to try Pop and the boys begged for Movies. We stayed at Sports once and found it more noisy than Movies.
I was also a Sports this Feb (14th - 24th) and had a great expereince. Lots of cheerleaders but plenty of space in the pools, no loudness at night.
It felt just great to us, and we had been at a moderate previously. Unless we can get Deluxe we won't bother with moderate. ASSp was fun and kids loved theming and the service was fabulous.
DH & I stayed at ASMu in January and it was fantastic!!! Since it's refurbished it was great, such a new feeling, loved the curtain between the bathroom and main room. Really made a difference. We were in the Jazz building in a standard room near the parking lot, but so close to the food court & bus transportation it was great!! Nice and quiet. Food court and shopping were great. Only shared a bus 1x and that was to AK. Really alot nicer and tons more pleasant a trip than what we had at POP in September. We won't go back to POP again.......too big, too noisy & too unmagical!! JMHO.......
We stayed at ASMu last February and we were in the country section. It wasn't a long walk to the front...maybe five minutes at a slow walk. We really enjoyed it, and it served our needs fine. My mom decided for our next trip she wants to upgrade to POFQ, but I would have no trouble staying at ASMu again!
