Which airport is closest to Disneyland? I am planning my first trip to DL and need to know where I am headed! Also, how do I get from the airport to my hotel? TIA.
John Wayne/Orange County (SNA) is the closest to Disneyland and IMO the easiest to fly to and from. I would ask the hotel directly if they offer a shuttle service from John Wayne... I know that there are Disneyland shuttles from LAX but not too sure about Orange County.
We just booked flights last night into Long Beach and saved $65 a ticket! I did the distance on Mapquest and it is 17 miles and I think SNA (Orange County) was 13. Jet Blue flies into Long Beach too if that works for you.
When we checked it was not only cheaper to fly to LAX (we ended up using miles so this didn't end up mattering) BUT it was the only airport out there that we could get a direct flight from here. I think that the cheaper flight may balance out with the extra cost of getting to the DL area, so think about both. However, we wanted to get there as quickly as possible and were trying not to be on a plane too long so we went with LAX.
As you see above, LAX is the furthest away, SNA the closest and Long Beach fairly close. It really depends on where you are coming from which airport you can get
1. cheapest and
2. direct flight.
From Portland we fly direct into SNA, although LAX would be a little cheaper, I will pay a bit more to be closer.
We always fly into SNA there is no difference in price from that airport and LAX for us. We take a taxi from SNA to the DL area it is about $40 with tip. LAX is more than double that. If I was flying into LAX I wouldn't take a taxi I would probably take a shuttle depending on how many are in my party.
