Hi all...

We're leaving for Disney in 3 weeks :cool1:

but... trying to find the right restaurants to eat in... We're going with a 6 year old (its her birthday and her first time in Disney)... I think charater dinners/breakfasts would be best! Which ones do you suggest? I have a group of pretty picky eaters, so that is also something to keep in mind...

Thanks for the help! :)

Our kids (7 yrs old) loved Crystal Palace and Tusker House for breakfast. For a non character meal they did well at Kona Cafe. The also loved the Hoop De Doo review. A bit corny but just right for a 6 year old.

If you are leaving in 3 weeks, I think it will really be a matter of where you can get into! ADR's for July opened up in January. Being that it is summer vacation your best bet is to either go online or call ASAP and see what openings they have and go from there. :)

You may have to get what you can, rather than what you really want. Dining reservations opened up 180 days before the start of your trip, so others have already had the opportunity to get those dining reservations.

Go online and see what is available and grab it. You may have to try for less popular places.

I would suggest Crystal palace. Winnie the Pooh & friends are there. They have pizza , mac and cheese and chicken nuggets for the kids. We really enjoy it there. I think there is a great selection for adults too. have agreat trip!

We really enjoy 1900 Park Fare and Cape May buffets for breakfast or dinner. They are usually pretty easy to get in to. :goodvibes

Ok...I see everyone else already mentioned that your going to have a hard time finding what you want and might have to settle so i wont so anymore on that. That being said...a princess meal is pretty much mandatory. Akershus breakfast usually has good character interaction if you can get it. If not try 1900 park fare. I have 3 girls...all of them were huge fans of the princesses at that age. If you cant make a ressie onlie call and talk with someone about any princess meal during the time you will be there. Crystal palace is going fun but i know by the time my youngesthad turned 6 she just wasnt that into Pooh and friends (my oldest still loved hi at that age) so alot of it depends on what characters she is into. Keep calling if you dont get something right away...sometimes people cancel the day prior to the ressie. And even if you cant get what you want, i am sure you will have a wonderful time regardless.

I booked my July 26-29 trip two weeks ago and was pretty much able to get the ADRs I wanted - now granted my kids will eat at CG - they are older. The only one I couldn't get was Chef Mickeys and you probably won't get CRT but if you can't get a breakfast try lunch or a later breakfast. The ADRs I was able to get at this late date was CG, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Flying Fish, I got Sci Fi and 50s Prime Time at an odd times and cancelled them. I figured these were not too bad. You just have to be a little more flexible. Just remember - you are at Disney kids pretty much eat anywhere.
