Help- when can I make ADR reservations at Disneyland?

We are newbies to making ADR reservations at Disneyland. I know that I can make them 60 days prior to the date that I want. What I need to know is the time that the reservations open up. I have spoken to two different Disney agents and they have given me different answers for making the reservations online. Is it midnight PST or 3 am PST or 6 am PST? Or maybe none of those? They were consistent in regards to making phone reservations. They told me that phone reservations begin at 7 am PST.

Thanks for helping. I would really like to get this figured out! :-)

I don't know the exact time but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Reservations are pretty easy to get. I have even gotten a good time for Blue Bayou reservations as much as 2 weeks before. There is not a rush like there is for wdw.

My window opened today. I tried at 12:00 a.m. PST with no luck. I tried at 3:00 a.m. PST and was successful.

It seems a little inconsistent day to day. On the morning my BB F! Reservations opened, I tried at 3:00PST, then 5:00, and at 6:00PST they were open.

The Fantasmic reservations seem to fill up fairly quickly. Be sure to get those early if you want them.

Many thanks to all that responded. I am amazed that the system is so inconsistent! WDW ADR has a very specific window that you can begin to make reservations. Now I understand why the Disney agents seemed so uncertain. We need WOC reservations and I assume that they will fill up fast so I'll be trying at 3 am PST and hope the window is open. :-}

I forgot about my 60 day countdown and was 5 days late. I was still able to book WOC at CC, and F! at BB at prime dinner hours with no problem. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I do love this aspect of DL over WDW. The uber planning isn't necessary. (and I'm Type A and still prefer it!). ::yes::

I was booking a character breakfast, so not sure if that opens differently than some of the others but I had read 8am. I tried at 8:05 and the date 60 days out wasn't available. 10 minutes later I tried again just to be sure and it was available. So it apparently can vary a lot.

We don't use MDE for DLR reservations, right?

No, but you will see it on your MDE app. Remember your reservation time will show 3 hours off as its set to EST (ie, my BB reservation says 8:30pm for my 5:30PM PST reservation.)

I booked through the DL site. But since my email and password are the same it puts it all on the MDE. I looked around the app just to see if you could book DL, but I didn't see anywhere you could.

Aloha,

Officially you can start booking at 7 AM PST 60 days in advance. As of today (Thursday, 07 May), you can start booking for Monday, 06 July. You can call or go online. The Fantasmic Dinner reservations for 01-05 July were not able to book until Thursday AM (today) due to technical difficulties.

Wowzers, getting up at 3am to book an ADR!?! That's true dedication!!!! are you by any chance staying onsite? If so, you can use the disney planning resources. Just let them know the resos you want, and they book everything for you. Hope you get what you want!

DLR is not like WDW in this respect. While some reservations are popular, very few (if any) will be fully booked very quickly. In most cases, you can get prime dining reservations with less than a month to go. The biggest exceptions are if you're going on a day with a major event (e.g., May 22) of holiday (e.g., December 25), then they probably do fill up, but not right away. As others have said, F! seems like it's the most popular option, but even those do not generally book up in less than a day. WoC is popular, but I don't think it's as popular as F!. So, while you can get up at 3:00 am to make your ADRs, I don't think it's necessary to do so (I would do that for WDW, but not for DLR). Just note, that as others have said, the system seems a little inconsistent and there are glitches so things may not show up as available until later in the day.

I am EST so that isn't as bad as it sounds! Disney trained us well with our trip last Nov. to WDW. Trips to WDW require so much advance planning this is like a piece of cake!

That is so good to hear! Our trip to WDW required so much advance planning! It all turned out just fine and we had a good trip, but we felt all the preplanning actually diminished our excitement for the trip. And I'm Type A as well!

We plan to attend WOC on a weekday night so it will be the only "evening entertainment" available. It will also be the new show. That's why I was concerned about getting ADR in a timely fashion.

Seriously, it's nothing to worry about at DLR. WDW is really its own world with all the dining reservation craziness. It's easier to get reservations for Michelin star rated restaurants than for mediocre steakhouses at WDW.

I booked my daughter's first birthday dinner at 60 days out because I would have been sad if we didn't get to eat there for her birthday. We decided at 36 days out we are going to Goofy's Kitchen and got a reservation. Then, two days later, we decided to invite two other people and they were able to change it. I also got reservations at Cafe Orleans a week before. So, besides fantasmic, I don't think you need to worry too much.

This. DL dining reservations are not in the same ballpark as WDWs (thankfully!). Heck, we were able to get reservations at Wine Country Trattoria a few hours before dinner and at Cafe Orleans for the next day (a Friday) during Spring Break while a cheerleading convention was going on. I wouldn't recommend that strategy, but the point is that there isn't the requirement to make your reservations the second the system opens up. Now, with the new WOC show coming, that may increase the demand for the WOC dining package after May 22.
