HELP~ What will happen to my points?

I have a 1-BR booked at SSR for 10 nights (Feb 28 - Mar 10) and now I need to cancel the last 3 nights. If I understand correctly, my points will go into a holding account? Does that mean I have the full calendar year to use them or until my new 'Use Year' in June?

The points from the last three nights will go into holding and must be used before the end of the current UY. If you have a June UY, that means May 31.
