Help! What should we do after a day at (gasp!) Universal?

Which of these should we choose for our dinner after Universal?

  • Citricos

  • 1900 Park Fair

  • Yachtsman

  • Flying Fish

  • The Wave

Need your opinions, friends! :goodvibes

  • My mom and I are on DXDP--I already have reservations for many of the top hits (including Artist Point)
  • We're staying at WL
  • Mom loves character meals
  • We will be at Universal/IOA for Harry Potter. We probably won't stay the whole day, and will probably be very tired.:rolleyes1
  • We will want to eat somewhere at Disney for dinner to use our DDP credits.

Other suggestions are welcome, of course, but of the following restaurants, which (if any) would you pick, and why:

Citricos
1900 Park Fair
Yachtsman
Flying Fish
The Wave

Many thanks in advance!!:dance3:

Aside from Shulas, the Yachtsman is one of the best steak restaurants I have ever been to, not just in Disney. I will say that the bill at the end was astronomical, a party of seven for us was over $500, but the food was well worth it. The steak and the dessert were impeccable. I have never eaten at Artist Point, but it is on my list of restaurants to eat it, as I have heard it is very good. I have also eaten at Citricos, which was also very good. But if you have never eaten at the Yachtsman, I would highly reccomend it.

I picked the Wave, simply because I know when I get back from *another park* ;) I usually am tired and want something close and easy. Because you are staying at WL, I would choose something close to my resort for easy return and rest after dinner. Just the way I would go, but I think all your choices have excellent reviews, so you probably can't go wrong food-wise.

I vote for flying fish... It was the best meal I've ever eaten.!:cool1:

I would have planned AP for that night, relax right in the hotel after spending the day at Universal. Barring that, I would go to DTD that night on the way back and grab a bite

have fun!

Me personally... I do room service at WL. It will cost 2 credits just like a signature. Also you will not be on any schedule... if you want to stay at Universal longer- go ahead. Want to come back to the resort and take a long hot bath- go ahead.

I agree with this:goodvibes

They all sound good except 1900. I would choose a place where you can relax and someone will bring the food to you. I agree, choose someplace close to where you're staying. When we go to US/IOA, we always get a light dinner after getting home because it's a must for us to have lunch at Maragrittaville.

If it was me I'd save my credits for another day & maybe double up w/ a 2 credit meal one day. I'd eat @ City Walk they have some great choices & I'd like to try them someday. But I like 1900 Park Fare & Yahtsman.

I vote for something casual as well. Don't underestimate the time that you will be at Universal. I would try to find the most casual option. I wouldn't want to be gone all day and rush back to go to a fancy restaurant. If I had to pick one of your choices I'd pick Flyin Fish, yummy!

Depends on what type meal you want. I love Artist Point..and it's right at WL. Good food, nice atmosphere. You can just freshen up, rest a bit and then head down to AP.
Or, head over to 1900 Park Fare if you would rather a character meal. You can take the boat to CR, then monorail to GF and reverse it going back to WL.

Have your soul scrubbed?
Never! :charac4:

If it were me, I'd have a nice lunch at Universal and then try to eat somewhere easy that evening. Pick somewhere close to your hotel to keep travel time to a minimum.

We are doing the same thing, the DU package to go to Universal for a day. Planning lunch at Mythos, then debating about what to do for dinner. I picked Il Mulino since we are staying at BCV and it would be easy to get there. But I have a feeling that room service will be very tempting after a full day at two parks!

You could always do that, too, as long as you're not booked at California Grill.

I picked the Wave because I think it would be easiest to get to from WL. It would be even better to choose a restaurant there at WL (is AP the only one there?)

You could also do Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. AP is more expensive than WCC but the food and atmosphere are terrific.
