I need help....quickly.
I need to BEST comfortable sandals to get. If anyone has
a favorite I would like to get them today to wear them for the next
11days to get them ready..
thanks

I wear the Birkenstocks with the soft footbed. They are very comfortable. I have a narrow foot so I get the narrow size and I can adjust the straps to fit my narrow foot. I don't wear them in the parks though. I wear them everywhere else but I wear Easy Spirit walking shoes in the parks.

and I alternated between my LL Bean Sandals that were totally awesome and my Reebock Sneakers. They were equally comfortable and my feet were happy happy happy. The Sandals had a back to them as well as a strap over the top of my foot. VELCRO

Another vote for Birkenstocks.I wore them for our last 12 day trip to WDW and never had a problem with my feet. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

See now this is why I highly suggest anyone who asks for the best shoes/sandals tries them before they buy them.

I heard so many great things about Nike Straprunners and I bought a pair on sale for $20. I HATED them. The footbed is bumpy and my foot never got used to it. I just threw them away while packing to move.

Each foot is different and what works for one, might not work for another.

I started out with Nike sneakers and within 4 hours I could feel blisters forming so I wore my Birkenstock's everyday for the restof my trip and didn't have any trouble at all. Plus it was so nice to be able to discreetly slip my foot out of my shoe to give them a little breather. I think what makes Birkenstock's so comfortable is that the shoe conforms to each individual's foot shape, once I accidentally put my Mom's on as they were the same color and size and I knew immediately that they were not mine.

So anyway, my vote is definitely for Birkenstock's!!

I'm sorry but beattyfamily is right..I just ordered apair of Tevas cause everyone said how great they are and I hate them..the nike straprunners work the best for ME and you should try the different brands to see what works best for you..I have never had a problem with the straprunners but the sneakers (nike) are a different story..for years I wore Nike sneakers and then they started to bother me..I switched to new balance and they are great FOR ME. So try on all the different brands to see what works best for you..sorry that I sounded so bossy but I really love the straprunners.

Definitely go shopping and try on a lot to see what feels best on you! That said, the most comfortable sandals I found were a brand called Ecco - very ugly (IMO) and expensive ($130!), but worth it - I've worn them for 4 years now (only to WDW, Universal and 6 Flags) and they still feel great!

What stores carry straprunners? I tried footlocker, foot action, champs, lady foot locker, department stores. I have a gift card to footlocker and the website sell them but I wanted to try them on first. Nike sneakers are very uncomfortable (I hate Nike sneakers) to me so I need to see if the sandals are different.

I own several Ecco sandals!! I LOVE Ecco Cosmos and they've come with me to WDW a few times. I alternate them with my Teva Pretty Ruggeds...

I bought mine on ebay for about $35 - $40. I own black and brown. The ONLY con is they really aren't waterproof but they are oh SO comfy. No break in time; like walking on clouds.

Which kind of Eccos do you have?

Glad you understand that I wasn't dissing you and you certainly weren't bossy! I know how it is to LOVE a pair of shoes, believe me.

Best advice is to write down the advice on what shoes/sandals are the best and then go find them and try them on. I've wasted SO much money on shoes I bought online and didn't try first.

I just bought a new pair of Nike Statim in sports authority..they had the straprunners there also but these had a little higher arch so I thought I would try these..I paid 29. which is also how much the straprunners cost there..also bought my picky hisband a pair and he loves them too..but please try them on first..all velcro so nothing to tie and waterproof.

Another vote for Birkenstocks here!! I LOVE mine. I've had them since I was 15 (I'm now almost 23) soooo we're goin on 8 years now! I wear them every summer ALL the time, they still look great and don't even smell! :rotfl:

I just bought some Ecco's on sale on Amazon and I love them. I have been wearing them around the house to get them ready (since it is YUCKY out now.) They were on sale, it took a week for them to get to me though.

Here is a link to it the site. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00061TQXK/002-6494250-3854441?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance

I like the way they look, but they do have some that are ugly. (kind of old personish.)

I just got some memory fit Dr. Scholls insoles. I put them in my lands end summer mocs. I love it. kind of pricey, $11 just for the insoles, I paid 10 for the shoes on overstocks.

Thank you ! The only place I did not go to of course :)

$29 is great.

Take a look at the passing feet someday in a public place and you will understand why there is no one "best" for everyone. Feet are all different.

I bought my first pair of Teva's years ago (at least a decade). I hated them as the texture on the insole just killed my tender feet. I gave them to my sister who had the same problem. Because of this board I finally tried them again but have some with a very, very soft insole that is sort of like suede. They are very comfy, but I do have to keep the straps very, very loose to prevent blisters.

Go find the Crocs thread. They make a sandal and people are swearing by them.

I am a big Birkenstock fan - after years of thinking that I could not wear them because I have a narrow foot. I learned that they do not need to fit snug to prevent blisters from the rubbing.

But my favorite water shoe right now that is also very comfortable for walking a lot is one that I got at Payless for about $8 (on sale). It gives a lot of support and does not rub or cause blisters.

I used to think that Mephisto sandals were the greatest - they are very, very comfortable but also very expensive. But I couldn't walk in them for long distances without getting blisters.

I've found lots of sandals (Clarks, Ecco, Mephisto) that are very comfortable for wearing casually, but that do not work for me when walking long distances. They are probably great for others with a different type of foot.
