Hi guys.. I have a question. I want to know if Disney would help with the gift bag idea. I want to make up gift bags for my guests and have them at the hotels before the guests check in, but wanted to know if when the guests check in, if disney will hand them out?

Has anyone done something like this??

If so, did it cost anything?

If so, what kind of things did you give to your guests??

Please help - my mom is driving me crazy about this, and wants me to get some answers.... Im hoping you guys can pull through and help me out here =)

As always Thanks!
Jamie

We decided not to do gift bags, but we are going to have "Disney Survival" bags waiting for each guest at their resort at check-in. I called WDW and was told that it should be packaged and clearly marked with each guest's name on it and date of check-in to ensure that it gets to the right guests. I have already ordered battery operated fans, coffee mugs, mist bottles, water bottles, hats and a few other things for each guest so they will have an easier time dealing with the FL heat and WDW crowds in June. I have ordered most of my stuff through one of those catalog companies, but I can't think of the name of it right now. Not sure if you would want to do something like that. The bags themselves are Disney oriented, but the stuff inside are not Disney logo things as that was getting too expensive.

So if everything is dropped off to the resorts before check-in and labeled clearly, they will give this to the guests upon arrival at the hotel?? Do they charge anything to do so? You had some great ideas!!!

Jamie,

We did welcome bags for all of our guests. Our theme was Cinderella, so with the disney print creations we did an iron-on with Cindy and the Prince dancing and it said Melissa and Johns fairy tale wedding 10-30-04. I then made tags with each guests name, date of arrival and resevation # on a tag. We included several munchies and stuff like tolietries in case they forgot something, and all of the kids had disney stuff that pertained to their age. My MOH and her husband delivered the bags the day before everyone checked in and they had no problems. I had just called the resort 10 minutes prior to their arrival with the bags. The cast members gave each guest their bag when they arrived, because of the tags their reservation was noted, and the cast member was able to get the bags from storage. Some resorts charge $2 for delivery, but most do not. I hope this answers some of your questions!

I am planning on giving each guest a chocolate mickey/minnie from www.newyorkchocolates.com We are also giving each person/couple a lanyard to hold their tickets. We got these for only a dollar at a hotel gift shop on our last trip! They are normally 4.00 everywhere else. I have no idea how these people sold them for 1.00! Anyway, we are giving them that lanyard with a picture of us in it. After reading the last post, we might stick some water bottles and munchies in there too. We did see some mickey mouse chapstick at WalMart the other day, so we might buy some of those too. Our idea-keep it cheap and get stuff that they will actually use and not just throw away.
One other thing-we will be putting a list of information that they need to know. Kinda like a newsletter, but made for their stay. We originally thought to send them out, but this way, they are sure to have the information with them when they arrive.

Avon sells Princess chapsticks for $0.99 each and their shipping is only 75 cents per order. Those are great for welcome bags! I've been buying things each month to minimize the "hit" of the cost. I'm also trying to stick to things that are useful and memorable. I really would like to include a box or bag of the mickey pasta...but can't figure out how to get it cheap...any ideas?
