HELP wegoshop/gardengrocer opinions

Hi DVC'ers,
I posted this on the tips board but realized I probably need help from my DVC friends.

Please help! I was all set to place an order with wegoshop. I thought they would have better prices since she can shop around for items and use coupons. I got a call from her to let me know that on Sundays she does not deliver until 6:00 PM because she goes to church. Understandable - she can take a day if she wants. BUT, I really wanted to get my stuff shortly after check-in. After all, the purpose of ordering the stuff was so I would not have to pack extra. (BTW, Sunday is the day many DVC'ers check-in. Must lose some business this way.) She said she would leave my items with bell services and they would be waiting for me after my day at the parks.

There is something to be said for having peace of mind, knowing this is all taken care of and not having to pack extra since I am buying anyway.

How much more do you think gardengrocer costs?

what time are you getting there?

on a sunday you will be luck to get your room before 4pm sometimes 5pm. so don't count on it.

so waiting just 2 hours is asking too much.

and yes I have gotten there at 7 am before and my room was not ready until 5 pm that night..... it happens....

I'll be getting there around 11AM. I was hoping to get in my room early (wishful thinking I guess). My thought process was that since most DVC'ers do a Sunday - Friday, I might be able to get into my room upon arrival. I guess I ASSumed wrong!

sometimes you can get a room soon.

other times it is much, much later. so don't ever count on walking in and getting a room. Now you might. but I won't count on it. WIth the new system more DVC member are getting their rooms - but there are still some that have to wait.

you can't know before which you will be.

I always have wegoshop deliver after 5 pm because of this.

We used Gardengrocer in Jan. He delivered on Sunday. We were already in the MK (got lucky and got our room at 9:30 a.m.), so he left the groceries with bell services--very easy.

We are also arriving this Sunday and using ME. We are taking a few snacks, coffee, etc. with us. I was a bit nervous but went ahead and put an order in this evening with Gardengrocer. I really wanted to have the 24 pk of water, gallon of water for coffee/tea and some other perishable items like oj, fruit, yogurt, etc. We decided that after we check-in (not expecting our room to be ready), we will spend the day by the pool. In the mean time we can wait for Gardengrocer and our luggage. When ready we can unpack/shower and go out for dinner either at one of the resorts, Downtown Disney or at the Boardwalk.

Also hoping all goes well here. You gotta try everything once

We used GardenGrocer in March. We just can't say enough nice things about the service that we received. Our order was delivered within 30 minutes of checking in.

A couple of hours after placing my order with gardengrocer, I received a call from them. I had a general question about delivery and he called to answer my question. Not sure if they call everyone who chooses COD. Regardless, it was nice speaking to someone. I gave them a time frame of 3 pm to 5 pm delivery. Since we will be at the resort by the pool after checking in, I can also call when our room is ready and they should be able to deliver within 30 minutes or so.

Ask your car service or if you are renting and go to Publix. You get what you want (and if you have their card - the sales) when you want it.

I am not the type that can sit and wait for others to bring me my stuff. I'd rather do it myself and know it's done right - one my time.

We're using ME and our group is coming from 3 different airports/times, so we've decided to go with gardengrocer for this August visit. The NJ group will be getting to WDW first, so, they're going to arrange the delivery when they get to a room. My DMom/Sis have been the lucky ones, I don't think they have ever had to wait for a room, we'll see if their luck holds for this trip as well.

As AnnaS, we're trying this for the first time.

In March we checked into our room after having lunch and there was a message waiting for us to call gardengrocer. We called Brian right away and within 20 minutes we had our groceries and were able to head right out and have fun. I recommend their service to everyone!

We used Gardengrocer July 23rd (Sunday). Items were left with Bell Services since we were at Animal Kingdom when they arrived. Great service!

First of all, having stuff left with bell staff (at BCV atleast) works. They're great! They have even made sure that refrigerated stuff is refrigerated until we call to have brought to room.

We have only used wegoshop - so far 4 times. The previous owner, Becca, was great. She called, confirmed, arrived on time, and shopping was done to perfection. She was a pleasure and we miss her. Unfortunately the ownership changed for our last trip (Feb 2006) and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The new owner is still getting her feet wet and has some things to learn. Her schedule doesn't coincide with most common arrivals. There were a few minor errors in the delivery. I also found it irritating that she asked outright for a tip on top of her increased delivery charge and fuel surcharge.

We plan to try gardengrocer for our next trip in Feb 2007.

We have used wegoshop three times. Twice before the takeover and once after. We were happy each time...every aspect from ordering, confirming and delivery. One thing I noticed that people didnt mention above is that if we wanted our groceries on the same day as arrival, we were to give them an eta and then make an actual call from our room when we got to the room. They were out shopping for the groceries when we called to confirm we were in the room. Groceries arrived shortly afterwards.

We have used Wegoshop before.. (Just as recently as last Sunday..)

Each time, everything has worked out fine...

This last trip, we arrived at OKW at 10:00am and checked-in... We couldn't get our room # though until well after 16:00... As soon as we walked in, I called Marge's cell phone and she had the groceries there by 18:30... Not a big deal to us...

To be perfectly honest, I will support a business person anyday that feels they need to take some time out for spritual reflection... The companies that run almost 24x7 (including holidays) unnecessarily just to make a few extra bucks annoy me without end..

I'm happy to hear that most have had a positive experience with wegoshop. We were actually caught in the problems that occurred with them last November. All I can say is that I would try and use a company that did not depend on 1 person to do the business. We unfortunately were left to fend for ourselves with a 6 month old and 3 year old and it was a nightmare. We will be using gardengrocer this trip...hopefully with better results!

Well, I wound up using Garden Grocer and had no problems at all. I was able to check in before 11:00, and our groceries were delivered in about half an hour! I will use them again without a doubt! And since I will usually need a Sunday delivery, it looks as if it will be my best bet!
