I'm sorry I don't have time to look up this info'n. We leave for Disney in just a few days and this weekend are having unexpected house guests! :rotfl2:

My parents just gave me $100 for an "adult's night out" during our trip. They suggested we use the kid's club at WL and have a nice dinner just the 2 of us. Sounds wonderful....but will a kid's club take a 2.5 yr old?? (who isn't potty trained though could easily last a few hrs in a diaper/pull-up w/out being changed) If not, what is the in-room babysitting svcs like?

We're traveling w/ ds 5.5 and dd 2.5.

The 1st half of our trip is at ASMo and would be the easier schedulewise to do this....but I'm just afraid where there is no onsight restaurant...we would be too far away if a problem occurred.

Thanks for the help!!!

I think the kids have to be 4 to attend the Disney "clubs". There are several services that will come to your room to babysit. Do a search for "Fairy Godmothers", I have heard good things about them.

Have fun!

We've never used one, but I do know lots of people who have used Fairy Godmothers and LOVE them.

Here's some info. about different services from the Unofficial Guide:

Kid's Nite Out, 407-827-5444, kidsniteout.com, male or female sitters, min. 4 hours, 1 child $14, 2 children $16, 3 children, $19, 4 children $21, transportation fee $8 starting after 9 pm +$2, payment by cc, gratuity in cash, must cancel prior to 24 hours. They are a Kinder-care company

All about kids, 407-812-9300, all-about-kids.com, male and female sitters, 4 hour min, 1 child $11, 2 children $12, 3 children $13, 4 children $14, transportation fee $8 starting after 9 pm +$2, credit card needed for reservation, must cancel prior to 3 hours

Fairy Godmothers, (407) 969-9847 and toll free 877-611-4314, mothers & grandmothers, 4 hour min, 1 child $12, 2 children $12, 3 children $12, 4 children $14, transportation fee $12 staring after 10 pm +$2, cash or travelers check for payment, gratuity in cash, must cancel prior to 3 hours

Sitters from all 3 are 18+, insured, bonded, & trained in CPR. Some sitters have advanced medical/first-aid training and/or education credentials. All sitters are screened, reference-checked & policed checked. Many sitters arrive loaded with reading books, coloring books, & games. Additionally, each offers bilingual sitters.

Then, of course, the childcare clubs for potty trained children ages 4-12.

Hope this helps.

Our recommendation goes to Kids Night Out. We had a wonderful (but stern) grandmotherly type who entertained our kids for the 3 or 4 hours we went out on the town.

Giving a bump.

Do others have comments?

What time do you usually use them (in room) - at night? or day?
Can you use them during the day - I saw notes about transportation after 8 or 9?

Thanks

952LISA, I understand that the transpotation fee is for any time, the increase in $$ is additional 2.- after the stated time. hope this helps.

R2D2, is that transpotation fee one way or does that cover both?

Please correct me if the above info is wrong. Thanks for the help, I'm looking into using a sitter when I travel in Oct.

We've used FG a half-dozen times. You can use them any time of the day or night. We had Marguerite; she was terrific.

We used KNO last year - one night from 7 to midnight so DH and I could go to V&A's and the next day from 3 to 7 so that we could go ride some rides together.

KNO sitters are available 24 hours a day, if I remember correctly.

I was just going to post something similar. I called Fairy Godmothers today and was not at all impressed by the person who answered the phone. She was very 'gruff' and not at all professional. I know I shouldn't judge by the phone call, but I guess I did. I think we are going to choose the other service down there (Kid's Night Out).
PS I have heard good things about both services

FG is a small, family run company, and that's just sort of the owner's style. Her sitters are wonderful, however. Most of them have been with the company for years. Kids Nite Out has that more corporate, matching shirt, sign this release kind of feel.

We used Kids Nite Out and it was great. We had Miss Nancy, who came to our room around 7. She played with the kids (Ages 4 & 2) in the room (brought some toys with her) and put the kids to bed. We came back and she was reading a book by the bathroom light. The kids loved her, and her legos, and we had a great (and expensive) night out for our 10 year anniversary. I would highly recommend the service.
