We are taking my 6 yr old son who has autism, sesory processing disorder, and mild cerebral palsy to WDW in October. What documents should I take to get the DAS? We need to be able to use stroller as a wheelchair and he has difficulty waiting in line for extended periods of time as well has sensitivity to noises. Any suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

You don't need any documentation. You need to be able to explain WHY he can't wait in a standard line, not the diagnosis. Request a stroller as a wheelchair at the same time.

The DAS will allow you to wait the standard wait time, minus 10 minutes, and you'll enter through the FP line when your time is up.

It can still be noisy and a 15-20 minute wait in this line. I'd bring noise canceling headphones and an iPad or iPod to help keep him busy in the line itself.

I always bring a note from DS neurologist, but have never needed it. Doctor writes the needs as well as diagnosis. Some of the return lines are loud and can be a good wait still. The noise headphones would be great if he will wear them, mine won't, he'd rather hold his ears, he said they squeeze his ears. We've been doing Disney every year with my son who is now 12, and have not had any major issues, as he is so visually stimulated, at he most of the time will not notice noise as much as he would someplace else. The only issues with him is unexpected shut down of rides, as he doesn't understand why and will have a meltdown, which looks bad when you're 12.

I'm a 19 year old with autism. Like everyone else has said, you will need to explain his needs. Also, request the stroller as a wheelchair at the same time.
