Help! WDW DVC Member headed to DL no clue!

We are WDW veterans and DVC members. We have no clue what to do and where to start for our trip in August for the Half marathon. Have been reading a lot but it is overwhelming.

Planning a split stay at DLH and Spring Hill Suites with no car. We will have 5 of us plus grandma and aunt. We hope the new Spring Hill Suites is not too far of a walk for the marathon finish. other option is entire time at Marriott Suites but we are afraid it is too far with transportation, etc.

Also, at a loss of how to get to hotel from LGB? Cars and parking at hotels/parks seem not worth the price.
