Help - was CM wrong? 4/3 deal - split stay

SnowWhiteIsDreaming,

I just got off the phone with the WDW CRO. The CM I spoke to sounded like she is really good (she said she's been at this job for 6 years). She was certain that tickets could not be picked up before 8am on day of check-in, but was willing to call Guest Services for me since I really wanted her to.

She says that they said she is correct. There is no way to do this.

So now, what do we do? :confused3

The trip report I read was someone staying at the Poly for two nights, then 2 rooms at a value resort with dining for the rest of their trip. They did pick up their tickets the day they got there, so I guess it's fine to do that. I think?

when we were there in 07 my mil was arriving a day eaerly due to weather. i went to Guest services in AK, they got someone on the phone for me to book the room, then he gave me a confirmation # that when she arrived she would go to guest services with and be able to pick up her park tickets a day early--her package didn't start till the next day, but this way if she got in early enough and they wanted to go to a park, they could.

Since we're staying Club Level at both resorts, I'm checking with the IPO offices to see what they say about this. I'll let you know what I find out.:confused3

Ok. This is what I was told.

If you try to pick up your tickets early, the hotel with the package has to be able to "see" your reservation & package (usually around 3-4 days before check-in). If they cant see your reservation package in their system, there is nothing you can do.

If they can "see" it, then you can go to any Guest Services at any of the 4 main parks (not TL or BB, and not any of the resorts). They should be able to let you pick up the tickets early.

Unfortunately, they can't guarantee exactly when this will work, so we may be in for lots of frustration!:rolleyes1

Hopefully, this info is correct. The CM I spoke to said she had to call several CMs in GS to get this answer. Hopefully one of those will be on hand when it's time to pick up the tickets...:rolleyes1

Good luck to everyone who's trying this!

If the person working at Guest Services at the MK tells me I can't get my park tickets early, I will be asking to speak with their manager (and so forth) until I get my tickets... I can be very persistent :)

mmmears, now that I've now heard two examples of this working, I'm definately going with this plan. By the sound if it, I'm guessing that some people in Guest Services 'know' this fact and that others don't ...just like there are some experienced CRO's and some that don't know as much. I will be very persistent until they help me out .... I will feel bad for the people behind me in line. :( Thanks for all the info. So, we know it's doable, but we just need to get the 'right' person to help us. Good luck to you!!!!

mbanks21,
I wonder if someone picks up their tickets early, then the trip insurance can't kick in to get your entire money back when you cancel your trip. You've already paid the full amount for the resort and tickets a month earlier. So they don't refund your total money (if you cancel). They only refund the resort-part of your trip. I know when you cancel your trip it takes quite a while to get your money back, and they will have it in their system that you got the park tickets so they won't want to refund the entire amount back to you.
