Okay so I need some advice for shoes on my upcoming trip. I have Crocs and love to wear them out but I can't wear them at Disney because I had heel trouble with them last time. I am looking for other ideas. I need the best I can find being pregnant.

I love my Nike Sandals. They are similar to Tevas but I personally think they are much more comfy. I wear them all the time at WDW even when I was pregnant. You can get them at lots of different shoe stores. Hope this helps.

My mom got me hooked on my Betula sandals. They are made by Birkenstock, have the same sole, but for less than half the price. They come in lots of cute styles too, if you don't like the "hippy Birks" style. I need more support than Crocs offer, and my Betulas are great! I got them at Shoe Pavillion for $39.99.

Word of warning though, they need to be broken in. After the first few days, I was ready to toss them, my feet hurt, but my mom told me they would be better once I broke them in, and she was right (Aren't moms always right somehow :thumbsup2 ) I've only put my tennies on maybe twice since I've had them, and that was only when I went out on chilly nights!

Ecco;s are Great -- they are said to be for people with Foot problems --- Diabetes, etc --- They can be sandels ---- Tennis Shoes -- Clogs --- etc= Most Major Dept stores carry them --- 80 dollar's & up :lovestruc

When I went last December and I was 27-29 weeks PG, DH teased me cos one whole suitcase was dedicated to my shoes. That decision turned out to be the right one. My feet needed the variety, so switching shoes between morning and evening helped me a lot. I don't know if I just needed to hit different pressure points or what to be comfortable.

Here's what I took (besides Crocs):
Clark's sandals. Very similar to Tevas but a little less sporty looking. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/2632508/c/478.html

A pair of black Ecco clogs. They look like these but they had a low back. http://www.eccousa.com/shoes/womens/casual/shade-slip-on/491/detail.aspx Ecco makes sandals too.

A pair of Cole Haan clogs. These have Nike air technology. They run pretty narrow though and my feet eventually swelled to the point that I couldn't wear them. If you do not have wide feet, these are fantastic. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-WOMENS-COLE...6QQihZ013QQcategoryZ63889QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Mine were a cuter color though. Ditto that they have sandals too!

New Balance walkers. You can find these anywhere! I really like NB over Nikes, tons of cushioning.

HTH a little! Have a wonderful time!

I've tried the Crocs as everyone has suggested, but personally can't stand them! They really hurt my feet! It feels as if I'm walking on pebbles. I have a hard time with my feet anyways ever since I broke my foot in the Navy. I returned to my trusty Clarke Sandals. My feet absolutely love these sandals! Extremely comfortable with a lot of walking. Check out the Clarke Springers...they're made in Italy and I have found they run a bit on the small size and normally have to get a size larger, but man they're comfortable. Also check out Easy Spirits. I tried a few on today and they were extremely comfortable in the store and I have a feeling I may be going back to purchase these. I can't have anything heavy feeling on my feet. They have to be light weight. Both of these shoes can be found at Penney's, Hecht's, Bon-Ton's, Belk, Macy's.

Are you looking specifically for sandals, or any type of shoe? If trainers will work, try a higher range Asics. These are basically the best trainers you can buy for people with foot or back problems. A couple years ago during college, I worked at a place that sold these, and we actually had people who had problems being on their feet for longer periods of time come in with doctor's notes, so we could "prescribe" the best shoe for them. They are heaven for people who work on their feet (my mother, a nurse, will not wear anything else after I convinced her to give up her Nikes for these). Asics have the most cushioning of any shoe on the market, and most styles have breathable mesh on the top for cooler feet. They are very good at helping deal with foot problems, such as rolling your feet towards the inside or outside when you walk, which in turn often helps with back problems. Good styles for back and foot problems are: Asics 2100, Asics Kayano, and Asics Nimbus. Don't expect them to be as cheap as Nikes, but remember they are a far superior shoe as far as construction and will last a lot longer, wear better, and keep their cushioning longer since it is a gel cushion.

EDIT: I recommend them because, although I have never had the experience, I assume pregnancy is hard on your back. :teeth: And although I don't know what kind of heel trouble you meant, I'll also say that they have the largest heel cushion of any shoe out there. :thumbsup2

I wore my Nike Shox and Merrill moccasins last year without any problems whatsoever! The Nikes are a great choic with the extra support/spring in the heel portion of the shoe.

Chacos are nice!

I am breaking in some Chacos for this trip coming up. I haven't quite decided if I like them or not!

Oh, and sticking my nose in one last time, I love Asics - the Gel - Evolution is my running shoe of choice but I personally wouldn't wear a shoe specifically geared to running for walking so look for a walking or crosstrainer.

What did everyone wear before Crocs?

Merrells are wonderful sandals and shoes. Try them on and you may love them.

A sport sandal that can be fully adjusted (Merrell, Nike, etc.) is probably going to be your most versatile choice. If your feet swell you can just readjust the straps to loosen them, and if they are waterproof you can stand in a splash fountain to help cool off.

Another vote for Nike sandals here. WE always pick up a pair in Florida cos I can't get them here in the UK. I wear the children's sunray sandals cos they come in cute colours.

If you cannot wear Crocs, try Birkenstock. They are pricey but they will absorb the shock from walking and many adjust if your feet swell. Betulas are a lower line from Birkentstock, I would make sure they are the leather ones though, to make sure they give a little more. Vinyl might dig into your feet! I do know Sam's Club carries them though and I believe the leather ones. Good Luck! ;)

I am an emergency dept nurse in a level 1 trauma center, I am on my feet on a concrete floor 12h straight. I live in Dansko clogs. They are a little pricey, but they offer excellent support. Although I have never worn them, I understand they make sandals, too

I don't wear uncomfy shoes ever. I am breaking in Keens for our trip in August. I have worn them to the local theme park, malls, outdoor festivals, and general walking around and so far they are great. I had to get a sandal with covered toe because last August I wore regular Airwalk sandals on the last day at WDW. I stubbed my toe on my son's foot and somehow ripped 90% of my toenail off. I ended up on antibiotics for almost 2 months and had the nail surgically removed. The only thing I don't know is if they would be good for pregnant feet because they don't really adjust much, so if you swell it may be hard to get the shoes on and off.

I'm also looking for a new pair of walking shoes, I can't wear clogs because I have arthritis in my hip so no crocs. My neighbor swears by birkenstocks that's all she wears. I just did'nt want to have to spend about $70 for a pair of shoes.
