We are going to WDW for the first time Nov. 18 - 22. I just started looking into dining info and know I am way behind! Would there still be any good dining choices out there? We have a 5 yr old dd & 2 yr old ds. This trip is mostly for our daughter to do the princess thing. I would love to do 1 or 2 character dinings princess for sure & maybe a Mickey, but flexible on that one. Any suggestions on places we could probably still get reservations for and maybe one or two decent dinner choices for the adults to enjoy too? Thanks, I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but there is really an overwhelming amt of info to try and go through here!

Akershus in Norway for your DD. And Hollywood and Vine in DHS for your sons, (only for breakfast).

Crystal Palace might be a nice combo with the Winnie the Pooh characters.

You should go on the official Disney website, www.disney.go.com, and see what is available for your days. Just click at top of home page on "Parks & Travel", this brings you to a screen, click on "Destinations", click on Disney World. Then, at top of next screen click on "Where to Eat" and you'll see a choice for "make dining reservations". Just enter the date, number of people in your party, and time, and click enter and it will list for you everything available. Don't specify a specific location or restaurant because this way it will list everything for you that is available not just one or two choices. Good luck!:)

I'm seeing lots of availability, including Crystal Palace at 8:20AM on the 18th. You will love this breakfast! Good food, Pooh characters, and in the park fairly early, although you probably won't be able to finish eating by the time the rides start.

Thanks for the great start! Can you make reservations for places and then cancel at a later date?

Also, is it better to do Akershus for breakfast or what meal? I see availability at 8:30am, maybe we will do this on a nonpark day?

And Crystal Palace is in the park?

Make the Crystal Palace for a morning at Magic kingdom. Don't make it for an early magic hours morning. You can get there early and get in the park before it opens. Great for pictures. You can do the same thing for Akershus at Epcot. Make an 8am Reservation and get in the park early.Going online to do your ressies is so easy. Just go for it!!!

Yes, you can cancel.
I've never eaten at Akershus
Yes, CP is in the Magic Kingdom. It is at the end of main street and if you are done eating before the park opens you can proceed to stand under Cinderella's Castle and wait for the rope drop there. This will allow you to get right on Dumbo rather than wait 20-30+ minutes later in the day.

OOOOHH, Try Chef Mickey's for dinner and you can walk to Magic Kingdom. Make sure your checking your park hours and whats happening while your there. Like Fireworks and Parades. The Dis is great for that. It's on your theme park page. What about Coral Reef for dinner? That place seems cool for kids or Ohana. We go to the Seaworld aquarium restaurant so I don't ever get to go to the Coral reef. Keep scanning the Dis and you will get lots of new ideas. Pick a pearl in Epcot is something I never really paid attention to until I read about it on here. Now I HAVE to do it. Have fun!!!popcorn::

Thanks for responding so quickly! I made a reservation for Crystal Palace at 8:20 on our first day. Now I am trying to figure out Akersus - we are staying at the Embassy Suites (free breakfast) and plan on only going to Magic Kingdom this trip. We plan on taking one "off day" with no park. Would it be best to do Akersus (since it's at Epcot) on a day we don't go to the park? I am finding lunch availability (1:20 on both Friday & Sat). I am leaning towards Sat. reservation b/c the park would be more crowded on Sat I assume? Then we would do TR, Fri, & Sun at the park?
Oh my gosh, I really don't know what I'm doing!

Akerhus is in EPCOT, Crystal Palace is in MK...so either one would required admission to the park. The only meal outside the park that would have princesses (Cinderella, no other princesses) is at 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian for dinner.

If you order park tickets for 4 days, can you choose the hopper option for just one of the days then?

Are you not planning on going to Epcot? If not...research and rethink because I never thought that I would like Epcot and the last time we decided to go because of the Akershus dinner. Well let me tell ya,I LOVE it there!!! It is definatly my favorite park to just stroll through and my kids like it too. Magic Kingdom seems always busy at some point but Epcot just has so many things to offer. Living seas,Soarin,Test Track,Shops and it's absolutely beautiful at dusk and then of course Illuminations. I think you'll like it.

The park hopper is a fixed price option, so you pay the same no matter how many days of tickets you have or how many times you use it. I would highly recommend looking through the park and dining info on wdwinfo.com. MK is fun but the other parks are also great! Animal Kingdom is amazing if your kids like animals. There is also a breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, which includes Donald, Mickey and others.

I would also suggest a subscription to touringplans.com to make the most of your touring. Do not dismiss the other parks! With a good touring plan, you'll see how much you can accomplish in one day and a trip to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom might be a lot of fun. There is also many fun things at Epcot for kids, you need to figure what yours might like.

No matter what you decide, it will be a great trip! Enjoy!

Right now I see availability at Ohana, 1900 Park Fare and Akershus on the 18th for breakfast.

1900 Park Fare, Hollywood & Vine and Cape May Cafe for breakfast on the 19th.

Akershus, Cape May and Hollywood and Vine on the 20th

Hollywood and Vine on the 21st

No character breakfasts open on the 22nd at the moment.

Personally, I would jump on the Ohana reservation. It's at the Poly, so you wouldn't need a park admission for that.

No one has mentioned so far that for Akershus you need a credit card to reserve. They charge you a fee if you don't show up and don't cancel ahead of time.

We've eaten at Akershus before and never needed a credit card to secure a reservation. You do need to give a credit card to secure Cinderella's Royal Table though.

Interesting! Things may have changed recently, because we needed one to reserve for Akershus breakfast for our upcoming trip.

I made a reservation at Akershus today for lunch and had to give my cc info to make the reservation. I will make sure to cancel if I find another princess option that works better for us!

Thanks maybe we will do a day at Epcot, I'll research it. I am just glad I got ADR for Akershus and I will go from there.
