What are must-sees or must-dos? Anyone know what is closed? Specific places we should eat? We will be in teh park Wednesday afternoon and all day on Friday. If someone can just point me in the right direction i don't mind reading, i just can't read the whole thread ... any help is greatly appreciated! We will be staying at DLR.

You must do everything...
Here is the list for what is closed: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...ly/daily?name=CalendarDailyPage&date=20080914
You must eat everything (especially Corndogs) :thumbsup2

thanks. i'll check out the link.
Can you always walk through downtown disney? I'm thinking about MM hours. Since i'm staying at DLH, i understand its quickest to walk through DD and walk straight to the front gate. That's why i'm asking. Anyone know about how far a walk that is?

Yes you can walk thru DTD. It will take maybe 10 minutes. See this thread for more info:

"How Far Is It?" (shows actual distances in feet from hotels to DLR entrance plaza) www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm060329as

With three different towers, the Disneyland Hotel is a different beast on the room placement issues. A room in the back of the Bonita Tower will add about 800 feet over the closest room in the Marina Tower. The actual distances using the path through Downtown Disney range from 2,413 feet to 3,158 feet.

If you're staying at the DLH (for 2-3 days??) why are you only going to DLR on Wed & Friday (neither are MM days btw). Why not Thursday? (Which IS a MM day.)

It's a very nice 1/2 mile stroll thru DTD to the front gates of BOTH parks....& you can walk it at any time. (& do read HydroGuy's very informative link).

Have a great time visiting Walt's park. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am in town for a conference and enjoying the parks while i'm there. We have meetings all day Thursday, so I'll visit downtown disney that day and do the parks on wednesday adn friday.

Rides, shows or restaurants, what is your priority? Read about the parks and then just go fir it, the corwds won't be bad so you will be able to cover alot of ground especially if you start early. Have fun.

You've got some great tips ^ there.

I am the opposite of you. Been to Disneyland more times than I can count and heading off to WDW in a few weeks, worried we are going to do it all wrong! Hey, maybe we should be each other's tour guides! A cross-country Disney expert mentorship! hehe :goodvibes

- You can find the hours for the park at Disneyland.com, along with parade, show, etc schedules for the days you will be there.

- As for "what to see," you have a little of an advantage in that you already know Magic Kingdom. I am not saying it is the same as Disneyland, but you will have a familiarity with many attractions.

- Although I think most will agree that Disneyland is the prized gem of DLR, don't skip over Disney's California Adventure. Depending upon what you like, there are many things there that you would want to make time for. (I am a big fan of going to the Animation Academy since I can't draw to save my life, yet somehow I walk out of there with a Disney character that I managed to actually draw! Now THAT is magic! :wizard: )

- The one thing that I don't know if people allow enough time for when planning a Disneyland trip is just simply time to wander. The shops throughout the park are fun just to wander through, the flowers and trees are beautiful if you allow yourself to just take in the scenery, and I could go on and on about things you could get lost at looking at without stepping foot on a ride. I truly could spend hours in New Orleans Square just wandering aimlessly. Make sure you leave time to just wander... I think it's part of taking in the Park.

Oh, and I would call and try to get a reservation (Priority Seating) at the Blue Bayou. It's the restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean and while the views on this board are split as to weather it's worth it or not, I am of the "I'ts not to be missed" crowd, especially if you have never been.

If you have any specific questions, let us all know. Like I said, I am planning a similar trip to yours with "park reversal" so I completely understand how you are feeling.

Disneyland isn't too difficult to figure out, once you know what's there to see. :wizard: Excited for you for your upcoming trip. Disneyland is a wonderful place to spend a few days!
