Can anybody give me some advice. I put, what I thought was a wood treatment onto my wooden floors this morning and then walked over it to the stairs. When it dried and I looked carefully you can clearly see my footprints all over the floor and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get them to go away. It appears that the treatment is like varnish.

Now, do you think it would help if I put another coat of the varnish (masquerading as a treatment) on this eve, do you think the footprints would lessen OR should I sand the floor down and start again - I really don't want to do this as I have two agents valuing my house on Monday and eveything is polished etc.

Thanks for any advice as I'm tearing my hair out.

Thanks
Tina

Oh no what a nightmare. :scared1:

I don't have any expert advice but if it was me I would have a go at varnishing/treating it again. Good luck. :wizard:

mmmm thats a hard one.
hopefully they may go away a little but another coat sometimes makes the mark look larger.
what type of finish is it if its a gloss then you have not a good chance.
if its a matt or satin finish you my be able to rub it down a bit and repaint that area but dont hold me to it.
try a very small section somewear you wont see it first.
