Help Us Pick Park Days

I'm travelling to Disney this October - Columbus day weekend (oct 7-9) . We have Friday and Sunday to visit Epcot and Magic Kingdom. It's both a holiday weekend and Food and Wine. We are a group of 4 adults and 3 kids age 8-10

Originally I had planned to take everyone to Magic Kingdom on Friday and Epcot on Sunday - based on crowd calandars that showed a low/moderate crowd for Magic Kingdom on Friday with high on Sunday and high for Epcot both days.

However, because of a mistake with the app, I can only get the Magic Kingdom dining we want on Sunday.

So, my question is:
Would people believe the crowd calendar? Is Friday vs Sunday that much of a difference for Magic Kingdom? With Fast Passes, can I still make a busy day a pleasant experience? We don't have to "do it all"

For Epcot, is the crazy high crowd all food and wine? Our kids will be much more into future world. If we stick there, can we expect a lower crowd?

Basically, because of dining, I only want to stick with original plan if its really likely magic kingdom will be significantly difference on Friday vs Sunday. Otherwise, I love ending the trip with magic kingdom, plus we can get in early on Sunday for dining.

Any ideas welcome!

Friday is a party day. Sunday is not.

Because of the holiday, that weekend will be very busy. Additionally, party days are your only hope of a less than crazy crowd. (Because people try to avoid doing MK on days when it closes early because of the party).

I would keep watching for different dining and try to do the MK on Friday.

Thank you! That must be the reason. At least this way I can ask the group if a marginally calmer morning is worth the trade off of no evening.

No way to predict the future. But my personal experience has been that there is a substantial difference in crowd levels.

If you do choose the non-party day, prepare for Wishes and MSEP to be a real mob scene.
