Hi everyone,

We are thinking about going to DLP and Paris, maybe London, too, if we have the time, for a family vacation in 2008 or 2009.

My son is in grade school, and we will need to travel on one of his vacation weeks.

Right now, he is out of school on the following weeks:

February/March for Mardi Gras week in New Orleans (he lives there) :joker:
April for the week after the week after Easter
Last week of May through the first week of August
Thanksgiving week (fourth Thursday in November)
Christmas through New Year's Day

What would you pick for a visit out of those? We are aware to stay out of DLP on the weekends, and go on weekdays.

Thanks!

Considering the English/French school holidays I would say some time in June (but not the first week as that is Whit week in England). The weather will be nice, very few things will be closed and the parks won't be crowded.
Thanksgiving week would be good too as you'd experience the xmas theming in the parks.
July tends to be really busy (IMHO) so especially since you're travelling a LONG way, I'd avoid

Christmas definitely, by far my favourite time of the year there :)

I would vote for your Thansgiving week - I was in Paris all of November and I did go to DLRP on that weekend; it was the usual holiday crowd for the Xmas decoratoins, but if you plan correctly you will see a lot during that time.

some posters also say that the actual Christmas holiday is quite quiet, but the days leading up to Christmas can be crazy.

I'm planning on posting some sample one week itineraries for Paris and DLRP when I get back, with you in mind!

Christmas Christmas Christmas. :santa:

We have been at other times throughout the year and whilst the magic is always there - its just seems to be in adundance over the Christmas Season itself. People smile at you, the Cm' seem to be happier and Mum is more relaxed :goodvibes

23rd-27th would be my suggestion as the crowds are manageable. As mentioned avoid weekends as the park is full of locals and much much busier.

It is cold but we have been lucky thus far - no rain. Fingers crossed this year will be the same.

Whenever you decide to go will be MAGICAL. :wizard:

During the summer time, you have more chance for good weather.
November & December: it's Christmas time, and that is just the best time to go!!! imo at least

If you don't mind the cold I would go for thanks giving week as it should be low crowds if you go in the week plus all the Christmas theming.

I'd go for Mid-late June. You'll miss the UK and Euro kids school holidays and the weather should be reasonable. My second choice would be Thanksgiving. Nice and festive, but would be cold.

April may be a good time, I went just before easter although it was a tad cold and wet, but i still had fun anyway and it wasn't too busy, the same as every other time i've been

We love going at the tail end of July, yes it's busy but the big bonus for us is that the park is open until 11pm and Fantillusion is running!

I would say get there Mon 16 July because you'll miss the French crowds for Bastille day.
And although it is the French summer hol most Uk schools don't break up til the 20th so this will be the quietest week of DLP's summer season.
You'll benefit from the park being open til 11pm and more attractions, shows and parades running. inc Fantillusion.
