After reading much about La Nouba on this board, TourGuideMike and the Passporter, I went ahead and purchased tickets for my wife and I and our 3yo daughter for Thursday night 5/1/. And now, Disney altered their schedule and will have the SpectroMagic parade and the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks that night!

Of course I want my daughter to see both, but I'm wondering if we should even make an effort. La Nouba starts at 6pm and is supposedly 90 minutes. Thus we get out at about 7:30pm at Downtown Disney, and have to get to Magic Kingdom and find a place to view the parade which starts at 8:30pm. Is this even possible?

While it's only a Thursday night in early May and probably not as bad as a Saturday showing over Easter break, it's still the only parade scheduled for that week since the weekend nights are reserved for high school grads. So I'm thinking it will be quite busy.

Should we try and get there for the parade? If we go for it, I'm planning on taking a cab to get there as quickly as possible. If you think it's "do-able," where should we go once we get in the park to give us the best chance to actually see the show?

Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks for all of the help that you've ALL already provided. It's been worth every penny! ;)

Regards,

Bob

This will be pretty difficult. Definitely take the cab. If you're lucky (and the latest times I've seen SpectroMagic they've done this) the parade will start in Frontierland so there will be some time before it arrives at Main Street. I'd stand near the train station.

Do cabs run to the TTC (you'll have to take the monorail from there) or will they go up to the entrance? If they won't go to the entrance you might consider taking the cab to the Contemporary and walking over to the MK from there.

Thanks for the advice... especially about taking the cab to the Contemporary. I hadn't even thought of that. Any other advice and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I've got to let my daughter see this parade! Argghhhh!

Hi Digita1Bob. Welcome to the DIS. I'm very glad you found us and I hope you can visit us often.

Trying to see Spectro after LaNouba would be truly cutting it close. Personally, I wouldn't try it.

La Nouba is very often sold out which means there is usually a crowd in the theater, which means you won't be getting into a cab at 7:30. If you are very lucky you will make it out of the theater and to a cab no later than 7:45. That's no bathroom break for the 3 year old (or Mom or Dad).

I suppose it is possible to see both on the same evening but very difficult.

If I had to choose between La Nouba and Spectromagic I would choose La Nouba. My 6 year old nephew was totally enthralled with this show. He didn't see spectro in March, 2000, but he was less than thrilled with any of the parades he watched that year. But La Nouba? That definitely held his interest. It is a very special show :)

You could ask this cab question on the transportation board and someone there can probably help you figure out if taking a cab after La Nouba can get you to the parade route on time.

Thanks for the honest advice. I was afraid it might be cutting it too close. At least we can see the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian. It's just disappointing because I'd have purchased the La Nouba tickets for another night if Disney had scheduled the Spectromagic a little earlier. Oh well, it will be a special trip regardless. Thanks again.

Regards,

Bob
