Help...trading DVC points?

Hi, please help me if anyone can as I am so new to this whole dvc process.
Does anyone know if you can trade for DVC points if you have a time share through another company(RCI?)? Is it only a trade between DVC membership to DVC membership?
Maybe there is a thread that would have this info for me? Thanks so much in advance!

DVC belongs to II (That makes most of the "500 getaways around the world" possible) Most say that DVC has marginal trading power in II.

As far as I know, you do not join the other trading company, it is already done.

You will get the best value if you use DVC points within DVC 90%+ of the time, but the options is there to trade out if you choose to use your points that way.

If you own an RCI trading timeshare, then no, you can't directly trade into DVC. You would have to find a DVC owner who might be willing to do a direct trade with you to your resort. Another option is to try Timeshare Users Group and see if you can find someone to either trade with or to rent out your other timeshare and then you rent DVC.
