Help ... tanning salon crisis!

What kind of tanning lotion did you use. Sometimes if you use the kind that says it has a tingle in it ,you will feel burnt for a couple hours aftger you get out. :sad2: It will also leave red blotches, which will eventually go away. myself i cannot use the lotion that has tingle in it. hope you get better.

I agree with Disnydottie, when you end up getting chunks of skin cut off you to be tested, it is not fun. I chose the fake tan in a bottle, better safe than sorry.

Bless you DisneyDotty, for being brave enough to post! I'm a malignant melanoma survivor too (Dermatologist appt tomorrow, very nervous about it) fair skinned, used tanning booths moderately in my late teens, early twenties.

For fair skinned people, no tan is really safe!

I always do the sun bed before i go away, for the same reason as you :sunny: the sun burn look will pass after a couple more visits, then you start to go brown. Have a good trip :wave2:

OK, this is a little off topic, but a liitle on topic.

I'm very white. My mom laughs & says I glow in the dark. I avoid the sun & tanning beds--I just burn & skin cancer runs in my family even with sun haters. So anyhow, has anyone ever tried the airbrush/sprayed on tans that are professionally done?

Also a member of the "fair is beautiful" club. Took me years to get up enough self confidence to be a member, though. It's so hard! Society really pushes the Tan is healthy attitude.

I'm grateful for the spray on tan stuff that's available now. I can't do it this summer, but I will next time! And, yes, I probably WILL feel even more confident with the "tan." Old habits are hard to break!
