Hi, ok so I'm leaving later today to Disney and my sister is already there and we totally blanked on our swimwear. We know its not that warm but we're from Chicago, so upper 60s is like heaven and we were thinking about going to the pool but we forgot to pack our swimwear. My sister couldn't find anything in downtown disney, is there anything else you can recommend to us to go for swimwear?? Or a store closeby? Thanks! :yay:

AKL Jambo house's gift shop sells bathing suits. Enjoy your trip! It's snowing right here in Ohio....I wish I could be down in Disney...whatever the temps!

I know you can find them at the Grand Floridian. There is a womens shop on the second floor that has bathing suits. I have waited around while my wife and daughter try on things.

All of the deluxe resorts have swimwear year round. You will pay for it though and the selection is not always very much.

I would bet that the SuperTarget out near Olive Garden across from Publix (it's west of WDW) has swimsuits. Call before going, but they know that they cater to WDW tourists... (schedule some time to visit their amazing WDW souvenir section right at the front, left side, of the store!)

We left our swimwear behind one year (they were packed separately)and just ended up the guys wearing a pair of shorts and the women wearing shorts and a shirt. Worked out well for us and no one seemed to care at all... :)

In Pleasure Island there is a surf shop that sells swimsuits. I think it's called "Curl". :thumbsup2

The gift shops in the water parks have a large selection of swimsuits in all sizes. They are expensive, I paid over $100 for mine there. I'm sure that Disney will let you into the waterparks to go to the giftshops there for a certain lenght of time without a waterpark ticket.

I wouldn't bank on the idea that you'll be able to get into a water park with no ticket. I would not think that they would you do that. They would have to believe that you will leave on your own or send someone from the front gate with you (both of those things cost Disney $$, and Disney is all about making $$$ and not losing it.)

As previously mentioned, there is a shop on the old PI that sells bathing suits, but these are more geared towards teens/young 20's (lot's of roxy stuff). Most of the hotels sell suits.

There is a shop in DTD that sells suits. It is by the Matell (spelling?) store. I bought one there once.

There is also a Walmart Superstore just south of downtown disney if you want to find cheap swimsuits.

Actually, I think that one is gone now! We needed a suit there once - we tried Curl, but ended up getting one at our resort. The supply is limited, though.

Worst case, a cab ride to Wal-Mart and back might be about the same cost!

Definetely not! Disney won't let you go into a park without paid admission, even for early morning tours or breakfasts before the park is even officially open without a ticket.

But Disney will let you into a park if you pay admission, then refund you the full ticket price if you leave again within 1 hour. Not sure if this applies at the water parks though. The very reason they will do this is so that you can shop!!!!

there is a bathing suit store in DTD that sells bathing suits. Some are unique to the store some are the same as what youw ill find at the shops at each resort. I did read somewhere that they were closed for remodeling but I am not sure if they have reopened.
All the gift shop stores off property have bathing suits and some are really nice and fairly inexpensive.
There is a nice store right outside DTD and if you walk you can get there in about 15 minutes.
Take a bus to DTD and walk down Hotel Blvd. Take a left at the end of the street, walk past the "Pineapple Hotel". There is a nice store right next to the gas station on the corner.
There is a bigger store just a little farther down right next to Shoney's that I always see nice bathing suits at. I did buy one once ther and it cost me $54.00 total for a 2 piece tankini.
