Hi everyone! I've been following a lot of the FP threads and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions on how I should handle what son and I want to ride in MK. I notice that park isn't tiered. Here's what our must dos are. There attractions are As and Bs on FP:
Haunted Mansion (B)
Big Thunder (A)
Mine Train (A)
Splash Mountain (B)

We're going in June, probably the second week. Plan on doing EMH or rope drop. What should we FP and what should we do at rope drop. Plan on doing two days in MK. Thanks for any help! :worship::flower1::thanks:

Definitely get a FP for Mine Train if you can. Then get FP for either Splash or BTMR and rope drop the other. If it were me, I would rope drop BTMR and get a Splash FP for later in the day when it’s hottest. You shouldn’t need a FP for HM. It handles lines well and is a fairly easy to get fourth FP as well.

Well that was easy! Thank you Samara! I was thinking FP Mine Train and to rope drop BTMR. If I remember correctly it's not open during EMH, so I'll have to time it properly for park open, yes? If it's not EMH, I will just be sure son and I are there super early! Getting Splash later in the day was definitely my idea too!

If you want to rope drop, definitely nothing wrong with that. But you don't need to. We never do, have zero desire to get up extra early on vacation. In June, the only one of the above rides that are even slightly hard to get a FP+ for is 7DMT. Even that isn't really all that hard. The others are cake, you can get them over and over and over. BTMRR and Splash are great to hit right around fireworks time. They're pretty much straight walk ons at that time.

Why thank you Klayfish! :thanks: Haven't been in June since 1999. I know summer months are busy! Can you help me with our EPCOT choices?
Frozen
Test Track
Spaceship Earth are the only 3 must dos.
Maybe Soaring, but I'm not sure my motion sickness can handle it. :rolleyes1

The "big 3" at Epcot are the ones people want most...Frozen (aka FEA), Test Track (TT) and Soarin'. Same deal here, if you want to rope drop, you absolutely can and you'll be able to hit all 3 of them within about an hour or so. Here's how...

Make a FP+ for Soarin' for a time window of roughly 9:45am to 10:45am (give or take 15 minutes is fine). At rope drop, make a beeline to TT. You won't be alone doing that, but if you're there for rope drop, you should get on pretty quickly. From there, walk over to FEA. It's not that far of a walk from TT. Ride it standby, line should still be fairly short. When you get off, it should be right in your FP+ window for Soarin'. So take your time and walk on over and hop on Soarin'. It's a long walk from FEA to Soarin', so that's why I'd suggest going that route...you won't have to make that walk in a hurry.

Spaceship Earth is an easy one. It's the first ride people see when they walk in the park, so the line for it will build quickly. However, it's a Tier 2 ride and is easy to get as a FP+ any day. I'd suggest hitting it on your way back out of Epcot. Often, later in the day, the line shrinks to literally nothing, you can walk right on...especially later afternoon into evening. But if you don't want to chance that, get a FP+. SE is one of my favorite rides too, I love it.

Agree with above. However, after Soarin, we always go to LWTL right next to Soarin. Early inthe morning its usually a 5 minute wait.
I would use one of the Tier 2 FPs for Spaceship Earth. At 10:30, the line can be long. I'd do 10:45. This gets you on with a short wait and burns a Tier 2 FP. Put your last FP at 11:45 , Nemo or something. Be sure to tap in even if you don't ride. This will let you add more Tier 1 FPs later in the day if you wish.

You've really got this down! I will do just as you said. Should son and I drive to guarantee we're there at a good time for rope drop? Drive to TTC and take the Ferry or Monorail to MK or just the monorail to EPCOT from there. AK, just drive directly there?

What's LWTL? I think doing SE as we're leaving is a good idea? But I'll FP just in case, say around 1 or so? Or is it even needed then?

Yep, you can do that too, totally agree. The only reason I'd suggest doing Spaceship Earth on the way out is because its' entrance is a bit inconvenient. If you do it at 10:45am, you're walking more than halfway of the way out of the park, then have to turn around and walk back in. We've done it plenty of times, so nothing wrong with it. But at this point, we'll either hit it on the way in if we're not in a hurry, or on the way out.

If you've got a car, I'd suggest just driving straight to Epcot. The parking lot is HUGE at Epcot, but if you're there early you'll have a spot right up front and it'll be a short walk...don't even need to bother with the tram.

As I mentioned, we really don't "rope drop" anymore, as in show up before park open. On occasion, we'll show up right at 9am for park open, but even that's getting rare. To hit the "big 3" in Epcot, we'll show up with one of them as FP+. Then we use "refresh" on MDE to pick up the other two, after we burn our first 3. We don't ride FEA every time we're in Epcot. We like it for sure, but not as much as TT or Soarin'.

As said above, LTL is Living With the Land. A slow, educational boat ride that's in the Land Pavillion. It's the same building where Soarin' is, the line entrances are maybe 150' apart from each other. It's a nice, relaxing ride. Rarely has a line. Takes maybe 15 minutes to ride.

I sure do appreciate everyone's help! I've been to Disney several times, it's just been 3 years since our last trip. And so much has changed is changing before we arrive in June.
