Help! Stupid questions about booking a room?

Okay, we have a reservation at VWL for Dec. 31st- Jan. 7th. I need to book the 29th, and 30th somewhere else on property. I have an AP, but I don't have much hope of getting a discount for the holiday dates. Am I going to be stuck paying rack rate for these two nights? Is there any way to get a discount on my room? If I go ahead and book them now can I apply a discount later? Should I book through the AP site, or just Disney.com? Thanks for all your helpful advice!

You'll be paying rack. There are never any discounts between Christmas and New Years.

Have you checked AAA for a discount??

Thanks for the responses. I don't have AAA, and I'm not sure it would be worth it to join for just the 2 nights. I'll check in to it though. Is there a way to check AAA without joining?
