I just called AAA to book our disney trip in December and they told me nothing is available. I am very stressed now, I put a lot of time and energy into getting the best rate for the hotel and park tickets and now they say sorry can't help you. They also quoted a price for a 7 day hopper pass a week ago, and now are telling me they do not sell them. So my question is now what do I do? I am trying to stay at CS the week of 12/3 thru 12/11 and disney website says all that is available is waterview. Does this seem right? One last question, does the 7 day hopper pass make the most sense. We will probably not go to the parks the first or the last day but want the freedom to go to different parks during the day. Sorry for the long post, but any help would be appreciated.

Wow, I can't believe things are booked up that much for December!

First of all, stay with these boards! There will probably be discount codes that come out that will reduce the cost of your hotel room and you will probably be able to get the water view for less than the price of the standard view that you have budgeted for...you may even be able to upgrade to a deluxe resort for the same price as the moderate resort you are budgeting for. Check out mousesavers.com if you haven't already. You will get a lot of information on Disney World discounts that are much bigger than the 10% you usually get with AAA. If you have your heart set on Coronado Springs, then book the waterview room now and you can apply the discount code later when it comes out.

As far as the park passes, it seems like you want to be able to go to the parks 7 of your vacation days. Then the Ultimate Park Hopper pass may make sense for you. Or, you can get a 6 day Park Hopper Plus pass, which gives you unlimited use of the 4 major parks on 6 days, plus the option to go to a water park on the remaining day. We don't go into the parks on the first or last day either...to busy with travelling in and out, so I never get the Ultimate Park Hoppers either.

Good luck! And stick with the DIS boards...you'll get a lot of help here!

Call CRO and they can tell you if there are any AAA rooms left for your time frame. If you have your 7 day hoppers already then just book room only.
I know that there is a big group of people going Dec 4-8 for MOUSEFEST. Alot of different internet groups meet at WDW.

Keep trying maybe a few of your nights are not available with AAA so the travel agent thinks the whole week is booked. By calling CRO they can and should be able to check day by day. You might be able to book without AAA rate and have the resort and room you want but without the discount.
Don't give up hope this early.

Stick with us.....and do the work yourself...you will be happier for it.:wave2:
Don't go through AAA.....you can call CRO yourself and get the AAA rate with better cancellation policy, etc.
If you are considering a 7 day hopper....also consider an Annual Pass.
WDW is not busy that time of year and there is always a good chance to get an AP rate on the resort.
Plus I figured out if you are there 8 days...then it ends up cheaper to get an AP........
You might decide to go back with in the next year.:hyper:
But even if you don't......the discounts will more than pay for the pass.::yes:: And you can head into the parks the first night and not worry about "using up a day on the hopper".

As for CS.....I love it there!! :sunny:
This is typically a convention resort, so there may be tentative plans on the books for a convention. Keep checking and it is very possible that a lot of the rooms will end up becoming available the closer it gets to December.

I really doubt that CS will be that full that time of year.....keep checking.::yes::

Otherwise......stay with us on this board.....TONS of great information here!!
Have fun.

Yes, I agree, probably AAA's "allotment" of rooms is gone. You can still get the AAA discount via Walt Disney Travel or CRO.

Or try using Dreams Unlimited. I haven't used them, but lots of people on these brds rave abt them!!

::yes:: Don't fear! You'll get "in"!!

Thanks for everyone's help. But I am still a little confused. If I call Disney directly they can apply the AAA discount, is that correct? Also, if I went with an AP would that be a bigger discount? When you buy an AP does the year start from the date of purchase or when you use them? Sorry for all the questions, the more I research, the more confused I get.

Yes you can call Disney directly and get the AAA rate. I got 7 nights at AS Sports last night in July for $640 through that rate. Now I wait and see if something better comes up.

I don't have an AP, but I'm pretty sure they are activited the first day you use them. You can buy them now, but not activate them until December.

I'd go ahead & book your AAA rate now. Keep watching for codes (here & on mousesavers.com). December codes probably won't come out until late summer or early fall. As soon as they are released, call back and apply the code to your room (you'll remove the AAA rate.)

You'll want to book through CRO or Walt Disney Travel. If you book through AAA, you won't be able to easily apply the code.
