Help! Standard BW Studio to stand. 2br at BW.

Hi all,

We reserved a standard view studio at BW for 1 night, with the plan of moving into a 2 bedroom standard the next day. On a lark, I had MS put us on the wait list for a BW view studio, thinking that since it is November, it will never happen. Well guess who got a call from MS today saying the waitlist came through?

Anyway, before taking it, DH and I were wondering if anyone has experience moving from a studio to a 2 br. If we keep the standard studio will the front desk try to keep us in that unit and open up the other side the next day? I know this is not a guarantee, but does anyone have experience with it happening?

I also know if we take the BW view, we will certainly have to move. So we are thinking, if there is a chance we won't have to move, we will stay in the standard studio.

Also, non-frivolous DH says "it's only a place to crash for 1 night, and 3 points are 3 points."

Boardwalk has many dedicated studios, which do not have the lockoff door to a 2 bedroom. You have to ask if you can book a lockoff studio to have any chance.

If I'm remembering correctly, we changed from a 2BR to a 1BR without moving once. I'm pretty sure on another trip we tried the studio to the 2BR and it didn't work. We ended up moving.

If you link th studio and 2 bedroom ressies and specify lock off, you should have a very good chance of not having to move as long as you clarify that with the front desk at check in. If you take the Boardwalk view studio, you will definintely have to move.

There a big difference between a studio and a 2BR. What were your reasons for reserving the 2BR? Will you miss the washer/dryer, full kitchen, second bathroom? How long is your trip? If it is a short stay and you're not crowded then I would go for the studio but if it is longer than two nights I always go for the space.

Yes, there is a big difference. Other people are joining us the second day. We wanted to go the night before to get a jump on our vacation. I usally get a 1 bedroom for the 4 of us, but for 1 night, that didn't make sense.

If you haven't ever had a Boardwalk view room, take the BW view studio and just plan to move. I think you should see what all the fuss is about - maybe you'll agree and maybe not. It is fun to sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks or the people and the BW early in the moring is so peaceful - tell your DH that it's worth more than 3 points to experience it for yourselves.

Anyway, IMHO, the chance of staying in the same studio is about the same as having a 2 bedroom ready for you early if you stay in the BW view studio and move. As DebbieB already pointed out, there are a lot of dedicated studios.

Besides that, are you planning to stay in the studio side of the 2 bedroom when the others join you? If not, were you planning to wash the sheets and remake the bed & sleep sofa yourself? I don't think you' get a full cleaning if you keep the studio - And if the 1 bedroom isn't ready early that day, won't it be fun to lug all those linens to the laundry?

No and No. That's an excellent point. The last thing I want to do is another set of laundry that day.

I think the waitlist may have lapsed. However, I will see about calling them in the am to see if it's still available to me. The thing is though, under our current plans, we don't even land in Orlando until 9 pm (IF the plane is on time, and we are flying USAIr ). The next morning we are meeting friends for breakfast early. So we will in essence be in the room maybe 10 hours.

That is, unless I can get my flight moved. Hmmmm
