ok im leaving in a couple weeks for for Coronado springs but im having second thoughts about switching to POR now that its fully operational and the boat to downtown disney is back..i have never stayed at either..i was all excited about CS until i found out today when i called that the pool bar/food is only open from 12pm-7pm and that they have discontinued the bus service that goes directly to boardwalk.so please anyone who has recently stayed at both i need your advic because im really freaking out and starting to second guess every decision ive made so far...aalso for anyone who has satyed at POR which mansion would you recommend??i will be there with my mom and my 4 yr old son and we all really like hanging out at the resort...thanks for any opinions in advance

WE prefer the PO. Actually FQ is our favorite but it won't be open when you are there, yet.

We have never stayed at Coronado but we did stop and look. We didn't like how spread out the resort was in regards to the room, pool, food court, main building. The pool was VERY nice, though. But, the slide seemed too much for our 3 year old.

As far as PO Riverside is concerned, we do like it. Our second favorite. We stay in the AB area instead of the mansions. To us them seem a little closer to the main building, food court, and first bus stop. That could be important with a 4 year old. We also like the "fishing" that Riverside offers. Of course, you have to pay a fee but since we don't do much fishing in AZ it is something my son likes. He also liked the pool area. The slide wasn't too big for him. Although he weighs such a little amount that he kept getting turned around backwards. The other thing we prefer about Riverside is the food court. At CSR you have to pay a 10% gratutity when you buy your food. You have real silverware and they deliver drinks to you, but that isn't important to us. At PORiverside the selection in the food court is very good. My son always found something he liked --mac/cheese, pizza, mashed potatoes, mickey pancakes, cereal, etc. Lots of fruit, cookies, bread choices. Good dinner selections, too. The boat, which I think is now running, to DTD is also a plus. You can either catch it or the bus. Two options instead of one is nice and with parks closing earlier in the evening during value season we spend more time at DTD than we do when we go in the summer.

As you can tell, our preference would be PORiverside. We like the AB buildings 14, 15, 16, and 18. There is a quiet pool right there and you are close to everything. I know there are some mansion buildings that are also pretty close but I don't know what they are.

I havent stayed at either, but hve seen many pics, and read a lot about both resorts.
I wouldnt hesitate to choose POR over CSR! especially now that you just let me know that they discontinued the direct bus to the bW! that would have been a major reason to stay there for me if I was choosing a mod, but now, forget it! stay at POR! it seems like a beautiful resort!
I like the way the theming of the mansions look also!!! :)

I preffer CSR over PO. If you were excited about staying there before it will still be exciting for you. The boat to Downtown Disney may be an allure but how often do you think you will use it. We went to use it last May and it was 40 minutes untill the next one came. We drove to Downtown Disney. POR is nice though. If you really think it will make a big difference in you vacation you should change but CSR is really fun!

CS is a great resort. The bus service was good, the pool was great. We didn't find the distance from our room to the main building a problem at all-maybe a 4-5 minute walk at a lesuirely pace. Consider when & how much you are going to the Boardwalk & DD before changing. I don't think you will be disappointed with CS. Yes, I've stayed at both.

thanks for all your replys...i just called and decided to split my stay so i will be 4 days at coranado and 4 days at riverside and im very excited about staying at both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yeah cant wait to get there--i have been to disney a lot since i was little and i never knew half the stuff ive learned from this board..thanks you guys

Great solution! We have stayed at PO but not CSR. Now you can compare the two for us upon your return!:) The foodcourt and boat ARE a big lure to us at PO. Your 4 yr old DS can go fishing too!:) The ducks and bunnies are fun to watch also. Do you want a bayou or mansion? Have fun!:D

well Wonderlandmom thats the only thing i have to decide right now AB or mansion..i've never been there before and from the pictures i love the way the landscaping with all the trees looks at AB but i like the ouside exterior of the mansions-do you know what mansion has that big sweeping staircase in front of it..its a really tough decision--does anyone have pictures of the inside rooms of mansions-on all the websites i've only seen inside of AB rooms..its going to be a tough decision but im sure i will love it no matter were i end up!!!!!!!!
