:confused3 My dad and i are going to Disney's Old Key West Sept 26-Oct 3 and the weather isnt looking so good..We booked through our timeshare and its $139 to cancel and another $139 to reschedule for nov 16-23. :sad2:
Obviously i dont want to do that. Anyone else going at this time thinking of rescheduling? What does Disney do if there are hurricanes? Help Help!!

Disney has a hurricane policy if there is a hurricane warning in Orlando for a named hurricane 7 days before you arrive you can cancel or reschedule without penalty.

thanks for the quick responce but we didnt book through disney. the $139 is what the timeshare wants to cancel or the week...they said i could have purchased optional travel insurance and it would have covered weather...ugghhhhhhhhh

I purchased trip insurance -but I hope it doesn't get that bad! Basically my feeling is this-if they let me in, I don't care what the weather is like :) I figure if I can do Ireland-I can do Disney in the rain. Wish us both luck we will be there 9/20-10/5!

Ours is scheduled for Sept 27th thru Oct 4th...what makes you think the weather isnt looking so good? There really isnt any way to tell what it will do so far in advance. It's true September and October can be dicey when it comes to storms but my friends and I have gone to Disney at this time almost every year for the past six years and never had any problems. My mom and her husband went in mid-Oct a couple of years ago and they had to stay at the hotel one day due to a tropical storm that shut the parks down but they got all kinds of special treatment so it wasnt an issue at all.

If an actual hurricane is forecast for the week that we are planning, we can reschedule w/out penalty but I've never had that happen.

Honestly your vacation is so far away to know if there is a possibility of a hurricane or not. Just because there are several tropical storms and depressions in the atlantic right now, doesn't mean there will be by the time you travel. You are seriously causing yourself more stress than needs to be.

At this point, if you are super stressed and it would make you more comfortable to move your trip to November go ahead and pay the change fee. If it were me I'd leave it alone and go and have fun. Most likely nothing will happen. If it does, then you can deal with it at that time. Honestly mother nature can rear it's ugly head in many ways. We can't perdict it, so we shouldn't stress about it. What's the worst case scenario - they closed the parks for one or two days. That is the worst case scenario. More than likely it won't happen. The number of days this has happened in WDW history is small. If it did happen, make lemonade out of it and find ways to be together with your loved ones in a new and different way.

We will be there the same time too. I'm keeping a close eye on all the Tropical depressions out there. But, from what I'm hearing from those who have been through bad weather at WDW, it doesn't sound like it will ruin our trip. I can't bare telling the kids that we would cancel. Yes, I'm hoping for some sunshine, but I am planning on rain too. Hopefully, more sunshine. I'm packing plenty of ponchos and umbrellas.

Rain at MK is a magical thing...makes everybody run for cover and you get the rides to yourself!

thanks so much for ur posts! Im not stressin' out im just keeping a concerned eye on the weather at this point:umbrella: :umbrella:

:thanks:

We are going to be there at the same time. Keep your fingers crossed and wish upon a star throw out some pixie dust pixiedust: and everything will be fine. As long as your flight isn't canceled or delayed too long it will be great. Some of the best times we've had there have been in the rain
