I'm trying to decide which restaurant to choose. In all our trips to WDW we've never eaten at San Angel Inn. Last year we tried La Cava Tequila and loved it for a snack, margaritas and tequila flight. I saw where Hacienda is serving tequila flights and the new margaritas that la cava served last year. Does anyone know if they are serving the same margaritas and tequila flights at the the San Angel Inn now too. I think i'd prefer to eat inside at San Angel but we do want those margaritas and the tequila flight too.

La Hacienda de San Angel = food poisoning for 2 days... Also, I don't know if this is important to you, but the salsa was the worst I've ever had. I'm sorry- I'm not a "bad review" giver usually, but LORD what a bad experience! (The margaritas WERE pretty awesome though.

The atmosphere at San Angel Inn was nice, food okay but the service was so slow.

Just got back from trip where I tried La Hacienda for first time. I have eaten at San Angel Inn twice.

Although La Hacienda does have great water views, I missed the view at San Angel Inn.

I also preferred the salsa, food and margaritas at San Angel.

Only perk for La Hacienda was the service. Excellent waitress and speedy service. I haven't had very good luck with speed at San Angel.

I have lunch reservations at San Angel Inn based on the seemingly improved food (I read the recent reviews here). I hope they still hold up as I love Mexican food.

So let me see if I understand this; a few awesome margaritas couldn't help make a bad meal better. Now that is bad. :lmao:

Why you always pickin' on me!? I've missed ya- where ya been?? and YES, it was that bad!! :lmao:

So the food is getting better at SA? We had a horrible experience in 2008 and wanted to try Haceinda.. We had a problem at SA with service and very bland food that had NO side dishes what so ever.. I ordered the chicken dish that had onions and some kind of sauce on it and that was basically all I got, no beans, no rice nothing.. DH got steak tips in a sauce on tortillas it was steak tips sauce and two tortillas, he left hungry..

I remember the food being great before, its one of my fave pavillions, the view, the ambiance being amazing!

I still haven't decided which one to try SAI seems to have a better menu:confused3

I agree with "pinkle" that SAI seems to have a better menu. We ate there last Feb (so long ago :sad1:) for the first time and LOVED IT! The menu looks to have changed slightly. La Hacienda wasn't open when we went. Sometimes you just have to make a choice and hope for the best! :thumbsup2

we haven't been to LaHacienda (it wasn't open yet when we were there) but we LOVED San Angel. MY DH is a salsa and chip maniac. it's like a need he's got to feed. :lmao: well, he loved it and he's picky about his Mexican. it's definitely on our list for our next trip!

The atmosphere and setting is awesome. The food is okay. Let me stress that: OKAY. We have not gone back again since eating there are first of 5 trips in a year. Does that help?

My friend and I still talk about the churros we ordered for dessert. They were either overcooked or stale. We would have been much happier if we had eaten elsewhere and just gotten churros outside the pavilion.

If you can get good Mexican food at home, I would not pay WDW prices to eat okay Mexican food.

We just returned from WDW less than two weeks ago, and we loved La Hacienda. We've been to San Angel Inn in the past and didn't enjoy the food much, so we were excited to try La Hacienda. My husband is Mexican - both of his parents are Mexican - so we cook and eat Mexican food frequently and he's relatively particular. In our experience, the food at La Hacienda was fresh and very good. The kids enjoyed the kids' meals. One of our boys ordered tacos with lots of "add ons" that don't appear on the kids' menu but that he's used to eating at home, and our younger two boys ordered chicken strips. The atmosphere was outstanding - beautiful dining room and views. The service was great - quick but not rushed. I'm so surprised to see all the negative reviews, although I do agree that some of the items are pretty spicy. La Hacienda is now one of our favorite WDW restaurants (along with California Grill and Le Cellier.)
