Hi, I'm based in the UK and have found a great rate for a Chevvy Equinox for 10 days in September (about $200 with Alamo). I'm in the UK, so I dont know what a 'midsize SUV' is.

There will be two of us with probably two large suitcases, is the trunk big enough to hold these out of sight ? We will have the cases with us on the day we go home but our flight is late and we will be doing some tourist things and dont want our bags in full view.

Thanks
Michael.

This is a SUV, so your bags would be in full view. These have tinted back window, but if you were looking into the cars, yould could see that there is luggage in there. There is really no place to hide things in a SUV

Not sure but doesn't the Equinnox have that tray thing that serves as a shelf in the back? If so that would sort of cover up luggage, or atleast be not so obvious.

I don't think tourist luggage in the back of an suv would be a high theft target. Usually it is cell phone, cash, ipods, laptops etc... that are left in plain view that result in smash and grabs.

Good luck.

The Equinox does, but I have seen Saturn Vues (almost identical car sizewise) on that aisle as well and I know those do not. Its just best to be prepared that you may not have a privacy cover since that is one of the few models of SUV that offer such a feature (wish I had it in my Vue)

Would a wheel chair (folding kind non-electric) fit in the back of this vehicle?

We had an Equinox reserved at Alamo last week and when we went to pick out a vehicle, there were none available. We chose a Chevrolet Trailblazer instead. It was big. Very nice. Very comfortable. Just wanted to mention, since you don't always get what you have reserved.

My brother rented a mid-size SUV from Alamo on January 5. He got a Saturn Vue. On their website it says Chevrolet Equinox or similar. BTW, he loved the Saturn. There was plenty of space for 4 people and their luggage.

Yes a w/c will fit just fine in the back. I rented a Chevy E back in Nov. and I don't recall ours having shelf thingie. My DH and i had no issue fiiting 10 days worth of loot in the back plus a laptop, 2 huge carryons and couple packs water. We weren't being that careful about packing it in either so if you are a good trunk packer you should have no problem.

We rented a mid-size from Alamo in December, we got a Pontiac Torrent. The wheelchair was fine in the back, but then our larger pieces of lugguage had to go on the back seat...since it was just to/from the resort that we needed luggage in the SUV it was fine.

Hey Chuck, congrats on your DVC moderator status. You are frequently a voice of reason on that board

Thanks so much for the wheel chair responses.

We are getting a wheel chair after we arrive so we do not have to fit luggage and a wheel chair in the car.

DH really wants the freedom of having a car on site. I am comfortable with just using Disney Transportation. But there are a few dinners that would be easier to get to if we had a car so I suspect DH will win this "battle". :rotfl2: Plus if we have a car we can resort hop and really check out places for the next trip! :goodvibes

Would you mind sharing withme what was the code you used to get this good price (if it is a code that is available to the general public you are allowed to post it). If not, please ignore my ?
Thank you
Suzy
