Hi, we’re off to the Poly for the first two weeks in April. It’ll me DH, DS6 (not a fussy eater), I’m a veggie. As we like to be flexible (and we’re not on the Dining Plan), I’m only going to make ARs before we leave for the first few nights and the things we MUST see. We prefer to eat after 8pm so I’m hoping that ARs made whilst we’re there, a couple of days in advance, will be sufficient.

I’ll let you know if it worked on our return!

So here's the plan:

Arrive Sunday early evening, probably exhausted after the 9 hour flight so straight to bed.

Monday - torn between the Garden Grill and the Living Seas for dinner– like the sound of both. Will make a booking for one and try to get into the other later on. Which one do you knowledgeable folks recommend?

Tuesday – Spirit of Aloha for dinner

Wed - Chefs de France for dinner

Saturday – Fantasmic dinning package. We did Mama Melrose last year and liked it but quite fancy the Brown Derby. Any thoughts?

Sat – Ohana for dinner

Thurs – Ohana Character breakfast

Fri – California Grill for dinner – a great treat from last year for our second last night (DS6 in the Neverland Club – which he loves!)

Sat – Last night…….what to do???

Any thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

We really liked the Brown Derby. The food was really good...especially the dessert :thumbsup2 . It was definitely worth the extra money. On your last night you might want to do Boma or Jiko. They are at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Then you could watch the animals after dinner. :cool1:

I think your plan sounds good so far! My recommendation is to try Coral Reef at lunch rather than dinner, especially if you are not on the dining plan. Them menu is basically the same, the prices are cheaper, they have a fixed price lunch special (I believe it is $20) and it is usually easier to get an ADR. I really enjoy Coral Reef as a fellow veggie. I am sure you will to!

Most definitely do the Ohana character breakfast! It was the highlight of our trip last week. Stitch even pushed around on a chair! It is lots of fun.

Regarding your last night, do you plan to eat in a park or in a resort? A patio table at Rose and Crown in Epcot in time for Illuminations is a great last night dinner for me although you would probably need to make the ADR now to secure the right time.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the replies - re a table at The Rose and Crown.....I'm sure its very nice but as a half English family living in Scotland it seems a bit too familiar! The other members of the family eat fish and chips at least once a week and we actually have a pub called the Rose and Crown round the corner so I'm not sure how much of a change British food and a dozen pints of beer would be for us! :lmao:

Thanks for the kind thought though. :thumbsup2

Hi Jomo

Iam a veggie have been for 19 years. been to WDW 6 times now, dont usually struggle to get something to eat. however, do feel they havent quite grasped it yet, like at the liberty tree tavern the meal comes with mash potatoes mac cheese which I love both, but when you order the veggie plattr you get A HUGE portion of grilled/baked peppers, cailflower, green beans etc, enoughto feed the park!

in the nine dragons they do a fab eggplant in garlic sauce and its gorgeous. i sometimes order a couple of starters as a main as they do that bit better

go on to www.allearsnet.com and go to dining then menus

good luck

Does anyone have any thoughts re the Garden Grill and the Living Seas for dinner please? I just can't make up my mind!

:yay:
