Help: receiving transferred points from another member

Both a dvc member and I have AK contracts but with different use years. He has June and I have Dec.
We are planning to have his June 2021 points transferred to me.
I'm looking to book reservations at AK for end of June to early July 2022 trip. Question is if I receive his points do I need to bank them when it hits my account for me to use the points for the June/July 2022 trip?
Lastly, when we do the transfer will these points be reflected in my account or will I need to call member services to make the reservation when using both my and the transferred points?

You won’t be able to bank them until June 1st As you are getting 2021 UY points.. You will need to call to both bank and use if you want to during the home resort booking period.

Reports are that they will not work during that time online if you were booking 7 months or less, it should work online.

Yup I understand I can't until June. I understand that we both have to be on the phone too for the transfer but wasn't aware MS has to do the banking for me to use it to make reservations 11 months out?? Did I understand you correctly? And are you saying because I'm doing it 11 months out the points will reflect in my account?

Because they are not your actual points, they are in a temporary contract which you will see online.

However, the online system does not allow banking of transferred points and so far, reports are they can’t be used during home resort priority either online.

So, both those will require a call. My guess is the online system was set up this way because OTU points can’t be used during that time period and they are loaded now the same way as transferred points

Now, you you have your own points to use for a few nights at 11 months, you book those online and call that same day and add the rest using the transferred points.

When you go to make a reservation, the temporary contract will show up as a choice.

You will also see it on the dashboard but if it is a different UY but not the resort. I had June UY points transferred in and this is what it looks like right now.
