Help received Code and do not know what to do

I know someone here will help me out. I received a 30% discount code for my traveling dates in September. I have my package booked through AAA for 6n/7d with base tickets and NO dining (because I was waiting for the free dining announcement). The pin code says it for Value resort and my ressie right now is for deluxe. I do not know what to do and I do not want to call my AAA agent because she will be very upset (she hasn't been a great help). What do I do? Do I call Disney myself and see what's available on any of deluxe resorts? Or should I wait to call on Thursday and hope the free dining is offered to the public and book everything then? Or should I call a TA (recommendations are welcome on a TA - just PM).

Ok first off...

You can have ONLY ONE of...

1) Free Dining
2) 30 % off
3) The AAA Discount

So choose wisely. Your AAA agent can book any of the above for you.

BUT.. you can't combine discounts.

Every post I have read has folks cancelling the 40% for the FD.

Why are you using an AAA agent who gets upset when you call? That's her JOB Have you considered asking to be moved to an agent who undertstands that TAs are suppose to be CUSTOMER oriented????

Nope. You can't stack discounts. They can have 40% off OR free dining. Not both.

Where did you get 30% off code? Is it only for Sept. I am going on 8/21 unfortunately before
free dining is available. I have room booked at BCV with AAA discount of 15%.
I would love to get additional discount on my room.

Yeah, I have 40% off at the Polynesian, so I'm saving $100. Free dining would only save us $79, so I'm sticking with the 40% off.

If your AAA isn't friendly, cancel through her and go through Disney.

1. Call Disney yourself. Most likely the code they sent you can be used at a deluxe if there are rooms available with that code. Tell them what your code is, and see if they can find a deluxe room for you. If the rate is right and it's what you want, book it. I have no idea whether you can give Disney your AAA ressie info and have them transfer any deposits you've made, but someone will be able to tell you.
2. Then hold your horses and wait. On Thursday, use a TA or yourself to call and see if you can get the free dining. Get a quote, and compare. If you think it's a better deal, switch your ressie from the "1." above to free dining.
In either situation you are effectively making a new ressie and cancelling the AAA one, for the reasons Knox mentioned.
3. Only after you have secured a reservation you like better, through either "1." or "2." should you cancel your AAA ressie. Call your TA and tell her you decided not to go, if you like. It's not about feelings, unless she's a personal friend. If you need to shuffle money from one ressie to the next, just ask around and see how that is done. As another poster suggested, maybe you can get a new AAA TA to work with you if you want to keep the ressie but not deal with her.


Oh, also, a TA can help you apply the code or get the free dining. My DU TA suggested we let them do the work, which I'm happy to do. Just be sure they know how flexible you are with your resort and checkin dates.

Thanks. I was going to crunch some numbers and figured out that my 30% code is best for us. So I'm going to call and do it myself. I have a few backups in case they are not available. So Free dining is not for us but I will pay for it. Although DH is interested in the WL villas which could be an option and not pay for the ddp...but who wants to cook while on vacation...not me!! LOL

The 30% off is yet another direct mailer/email to select customers for certain date ranges. This is a PIN offer and not transferable. (IE: No sharing)
