After YEARS, I have finally rec'd a PIN!!!!
Good Morning all DISers!! Having an issue, not sure if you can help me with? Last week I rec’d a pin code in my email. this is only the 2nd pin from Disney I have rec’d since my divorce 4 years ago….and I have had the same problem both times. The pin was in my ex husband’s name, but comes to my personal email…the clincher is, it has his girl friend’s address where he has been living for several years. I called Disney Friday to see about at least changing it back to my address and they said they weren’t able to do that….that somehow he must have accessed my account and switched everything to his current address and there was no way to remove his pins from coming to my email…..how frustrating is that? But they did pull up my information and said that the email address they had on file was my travel agents….so they said it’s possible my/our pins could be coming to her. I had them remove that and add my email and also add my current/our old address back to my email with them….I was almost in tears at this point because they said it is possible that I could always receive his pins through my email and I would never be able to use them…I would have to just wait and see if one came with my name/address attached through the same email…..again, I was sooo frustrated about this. Disney suggested that he may have been able to change everything to his name but has not thought about changing the email address….I just don’t understand all of this and why, with today’s technology they cannot remove him from my email account they have on file…..I didn’t know if anyone else would have any other insightor suggestions on whats going on with this or how to truly fix it….I know he continues to travel to Disney a couple of times a year just like we used to…I also thought he may have gotten a pin delivered to our old…my current… address when he was still there and called to use the pin for himself and just said he was my husband and needed to change the address….if that’s the case, I could try to call, using the pin that came in my email and say I was his wife and needed to change the address back and maybe that would fix it back….I guess my question is, if he could figure out a way to change the address on the PIN, then how can I change it back….

Wow. Sorry to hear that a PIN code needs to be part of the divorce decree nowadays. Good luck.

Wow. That is crazy. Can you access the account connected to your email online and change the information back to your name/address? I would definitely change the password after you have updated your information so your ex-husband can't get back into it. After everything is changed then maybe you can speak with a supervisor about allowing you to apply your pin. Right now they see his name and her address when they bring up the account associated with the email address.

Check back with Disney again on the changes you made. I can't tell you how many times I changed something and it was just back to the old version next time I talked to them. Eventually I got it straightened out, but it took a long time.

Is there a way you could call Disney and tell them you received your PIN in your email but the address has changed? And they can update it for you? But not sure how it will work since this is in your ex husband's name... I've booked things before under my DH's name but we do have the same last name..not sure if you switched yours back.

I have a similar issue. My Mom and I typically book and travel together. Our Disney account is in my name and comes to my email...but she usually pays for the trips.

In December I am taking a girls only trip with my friends. Last week I got a pin in the email to my address and account but with my Moms name. I tried booking online-no luck, she has to be a primary traveler. So I tried calling the number in the email...it is different than the regular booking number. They told me I couldn't use it because it was in my Moms name. So I called the regular Disney booking number. I told them I had received a PIN and couldn't get it to work. She pulled up the pin and was able to apply it. I told her it was in my Moms name but she had no issue....so you might try the regular line first...they seemed to be a little more flexible than the number I was given with the PIN.

I would be a little leery of doing this, as they do ask for ID when you check in. If they decide to check and your mom is not along, they can revert your reservation back to rack rate at check in.

Call back and ask for a supervisor. If she can't help, ask for HER supervisor. Sooner or later you will find the person who can fix this because no, it is not acceptable that they just shrug and send him and his girlfriend stuff at your email forever.

They already know my Mom will not be there. She isn't on the reservation and they applied the pin since it came to my account, just came to her name because she paid for the last trip.

That doesn't matter. If the issue is pressed at check in, the discount belongs to your mom, not to you. Just like you can book an AP rate without an AP. You can book a discount without having to prove it belongs to you. However, they can ask for proof that you are entitled to the discount at check in. If you are not entitled to it (which you are not, only your mom is) and they force the issue, you will lose the discount.

I'm not sure if they will but you should know it is possible. Just because they let you book a discount does not mean you are entitled to it or that they will let you keep it.

This is a tricky situation. In my case my mom has the same address. Anyway, she received a pin code recently. I just booked a trip without her with her pin code. I was told it was all right; because, we have the same address. Also, the CM checked to see if my husband or I were on her account and we were; so, we had no problem using her pin code.
