Help quick!! In middle of painting...

Yikes! I'm painting over my bathroom wallpaper right now! Um..what do you do about the toilet? I can't get behind all of it...what do I do? Also, I'm using Killz. I can still see some of the blue stripe. Do I prime it again before I paint the color on or will it be o.k.? I'm such a sad homemaker!!!

No help, I'm a pretty sad painter myself...lmao. But here's some pixie dust to help you on your project ! I recently tried to paint my sun room only to have the same thing happen, minus the toilet...lol! Called Dutch Boy and they told me to prime with a tinted primer and try again. If your paint offers one coat coverage they may give you an extra gallon free.

I can empathize, I'm taking a break from painting right now...

The only thing that I can think of, as far the toilet tank, is to remove it and then paint the area behind it. I have never painted over wallpaper, but one of my neighbors painted over it in his bathroom and it looks good. I would give it another coat of primer and see how that looks. I hate painting bathrooms because there is little room to move. Good luck!

I did this once. just roll the paint on super really thike and let it drip down behind the toylet.

I sat on the floor and leaned in as far as possible, moving from side to side. DO NOT use a roller! You need a small brush that allows you to move your hand around a bit. I even sat on top of toilet and leaned over at times. Just "snake" yourself around and don't worry 'bout being ladylike. Where there's a will, there's a way! And yes, you can see colors and patterns through Kilz, but usually 2 coats of latex will take care of it. Greatest of luck!

We just removed wallpaper from our bathroom, and in order to get to it, we had to take out the toilet (we're replacing it anyway). Dont' know what to tell you though, for I've never painted over wallpaper. But I would use a brush, not a roller.

I found a mini roller, just like a regular roller brush, but meant for painting behind things. I'm pretty sure I got it at Home Depot. It worked great for painting behind the toilet. HTH

Thanks...Just took a break to take DD to Karate class with all the nice oil based primer all over my arms!! Could find NO mineral spirits ANYWHERE in the garage. Anyway, I'll just keep wedging myself in there with my little brush. I have NO IDEA how to remove a toilet tank and I'm quite sure DH (who is blessedly out of town) wouldn't touch it!!!

I've just gotta keep focusing on that CUTE new shower curtain and towels, right????
