Booking a room for a family trip to Disneyland courtesy of a Convention DH is attending...have to book soon!!
Which Resort would you book??...only Standard Views are available on both!

I'd choose DL Hotel. IMO it's nicer (recently renovated) and has the true old school Disney feel to it. Of course I'd choose the Grand Californian above all, but my next choice would be DLH.

I think maybe the Grand Californian would be more closely matched to what you're used to by looking at your list of WDW trips on your signature thingy.

Oh, neat! I didn't know it'd been remodeled, we haven't been in years. Yes, if you get a renovated room the location and building it's self is amazing. We took club or concierge or whatever and snacked and had drinks when ever. Because all is much more compac than DW it was simple to go back to the lounge.

Definitely Disneyland Hotel. Paradise Pier is a bit farther out and doesn't seem to have the magic. I always request the Sierra Tower (I believe thats it... hmmm... well just ask for the tower closet to the monorail/Downtown Disney). Thats the tower closest to the monorail where the majority of concierge suites are. Usually by requesting that tower I am upgraded to concierge (I pay cheapest available). Most views from that tower are either downtown Disney or the Peter Pan themed pool. The rooms are really nice, very Disney, and were refurbished sometime around 2001 I believe.
