I am so excited. :bounce: I haven't been to DL for 4 years and I have finally convinced my DH to go with me in Nov 2005 for the 50th. We both have been there several times (hence the reason DH needed convincing to go:crazy: ). But we are taking our neighbors who have never been.:earseek: I can't wait to share the magic with them. But they are skeptical that DL is just for kids and are a little unsure. We are going to Magic Mountain (they have never been there either and they are excited about that) Does anyone have any ideas that would help them see that DL is for adults too.

Thanks

I don't know if I have proof, but I was more excited than either my neice or nephew when I took them. I'm 33 and I get excited every time I go, which is quite often. And I go nuts whenever I see Chip & Dale.

Well - I went there whith my then-boyfriend almost 14 years ago, and he'll admit - now my DH - that our time there was what really convinced him he wanted to marry me. We also went for our 3rd anniversary before kids, and had one of the most romantic 4 days of our marriage. Do the Blue Bayou retaurant, get your portrait sketched, sit on a bench on Main Street and eat an ice cream, and scream all the way down Splash Mountain while holding hands. Can't beat it!

::snicker:: I love corny jokes.

In response to the OP, I'd make sure to slow down and enjoy the details and more "sophisticated" side of DL. Find the way to balance the childlike fun and adult fun. If you'll be there multiple days, then you can make full use of your park hopper tix.
Definately do the various "thrill rides" such as Indy, Pirates, Mansion, Splash, Big THunder, Matterhorn, and Space. Don't underestimate the adult appeal of Buzz Lightyear. Us adults can get very competitive with that ride. Take time to enjoy the Disney Gallery, Tom Sawyer's Island can be nice just to walk around, and there should be a nice exhibit in DL for a history of DL. At DCA, you'll have Soarin', California Screamin', Tower of Terror, and Grizzly River Run as your thrill rides. Golden Dreams is a nice movie albeit a bit PC, the Vineyard movie is supposed to be pretty good actually. ALaddin is a pretty strong show too. Take time to explore the Grand Californian and enjoy a nice meal there or at some of the restaurants ib DTD.
When they feel the mood, then do the fun kid stuff like Teacups, etc. Just don't overplan the visit.

Thanks for the reminder. The is the first DL trip that I am going on for totally "me" reasons. I am also in the midst of planning my first WDW trip (for 13 adults :crazy:) and I have found that I am a compulsive planner. (the trip is not for 3 years talking about planning ahead) Any way I was approaching at the DL trip the same way.

So, far I am planning to do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour ( for me) on the first day we are there. And ending with the Fantasmic balcony. Any other suggestions. We will be there for 3 days and are staying at the Park Place Inn.

Thanks

We have been going to DL off and on for a number of years as our kids have been growing up. 2 years ago, we took our best friends. All of us, (except my 13 year old daughter), were in our 40's. We didn't do anything special, yet we all had a blast!! They hadn't ever been to DL before and can't wait to go back. Last year we went a step farther and took them to WDW, which they also loved!!! They said it was one of their best vacations. They even got into pin trading. Debby
