So, just printed out some disigns on paper to see how they'd look and all...
I have HP Photo Printing Wizard on my computer.

Here are my ??'s or concerns (Not tech savvy AT ALL!!)

* Which print option do I want : Fax Print --prints everything including the border on the disign, but is smaller in comparison to printing on different settings; Full Page Photo Print--- cuts off side borders and bigger image (~ 1/4 to 1/2 inches more); or 8x10 Cut Out print---cuts the side border off (more on one side than the other) ?

Then as I explored more options, I thought...
* Do I need to change to HP Iron on Transfer or Other Specialty Paper (Going to order from AMY)?

* Letter option: Borderless Printing?

* Print Quality: Automatic; Best; or max dpi (don't even know what that stands for:confused3)?

Help and info would be much appreciated!!

It sounds like the images you are trying to print are too big for the paper (and would be for transfer paper too. Does your printer have a scaling option where you can select "fit to page"? I think you would want the full page photo print for the best quality, but just need to scale it down to be the right size which should be a simple setting somewhere in the print pop up that comes up.

As for the other settings, don't select the transfer setting if you use Amy's or any other dark transfer. This setting will flip the image during printing which is not necessary on the dark transfers.

Borderless is OK but I don't think it will resolve your size issue and in some cases can make the image streaky if the paper has any lift on the edges. Best off leaving this alone and not selecting it.

Quality, I always select best but it will use more ink. DPI stands for dots per inch, ie how many "pixels" your printer can place in a 1" line. Most web images are 72dpi but but this can vary, a decent quality is 300dpi - you'll have a much sharper image (more data in a smaller space). In the case of printing off graphics vs photography though it's not necessary to play with this, so again, leave it alone or on automatic.

Oh, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I will just have to "let it go" and take the tad bit smaller image in order to produce the best quality shirt image. Thank you for also telling me NOT TO MIRROR IMAGE! I would have screwed that up too!! :lmao:

Oh... duh huh on my part... I did fit to print and it is only on the Fax Photo print where the whole thing fits w/o any missing borders. Can or should I use this setting? Or is there a way to "shrink the image" enough on the other photo print options? :confused3

I would think there is another way to shrink them but I don't have a HP printer so I am not sure where to find the option in there. :confused3 Maybe someone with an HP can chime in on where the setting would be?

Just another idea (if all else fails), open the image on a word doc and scale it to the paper size (just a hair smaller so you don't have margin issues) and print off the word document containing your images. :thumbsup2

It sounds like you are trying to print it as a photo. Try prinitng it like you would a document. Then you can size it however you want to fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Open a word document, orient it landscape or portrait - whichever would work better for your design. Then cut and paste the picture on the document. Drag with the corners it to enlarge or shrink to the exact size you want it be (being sure to keep the ratio the same). Print a test result on regular paper.

I save my disigns in "my picture" folder and then I click "insert photo" from word and select the picture I want.

Thanks for the advise... I tried this, yet when I inserted in Word from my file, I get a colored background --- it is the color from Milliepie's photobucket background. And, I can only seem to move/enlarge the length, not width of the picture. I will keep trying, but hhmmm...

Hmm, I wonder if you downloaded something other than just the picture (like the whole page)? Did you click on the photobucket picture and then the full size thing then download/save it?
If you insert a picture you should be able to resize it proportionally (width and height) by "grabbing" a corner and stretching it out.

I thought you had to click the image to full size in order to be able to print it full size. Is that not neccessary? Thank you for coming back and trying to help me figure this out!! :flower3: I appreciate it! :)

Now I'm getting confused but I'll try..

So the pictures come up on the photobucket account, you double click it to select the picture you want, (bigger picture of it comes up) then go up to the top left of the picture with the mouse and a bar come up with "full size", you double click that and the picture comes up again, now full size, I then, right click and do "save as" and save it under my pictures - is that what you are doing?

YES... I find the photo in photobucket, click it on (usually says something like 63% size image). Then I double click to full size. It is at that point I then Save Picture as... Thinking I need it to be full size in order to save it and print it properly to fit or fill the transfer. Do I need to click it to full size in order to not only save it, but print it as the full size?

Thank you soooooo much for trying to help a non tech friendly gal! One day, I may learn or know how... here's hoping and trying too! :surfweb::confused3

Hey there. Which picture are you trying to print? Maybe I can email it to you in word, or scale it down a bit for you.

I'm trying to do the Hitchhiking to School w/ the borders you made for me :)

And those as well as the American Mickey head you made (AWESOME by the way:cool2:) have the background color and is not white or transparent. The Hitchiking have a purple/magenta background.

I tried in paint, but would have to remove the background and it's very tidius. I told you I am not tech savvy :rotfl: and how I see it now hurts me. Thanks so much for helping me... if you think it would work better in another form Great!

I'll PM my email address if you need that.

Ok, one more question. Are you using the one with Mom and Dad or your names? I'm asking so I can do just those instead of both sets. I'm going to save them in Jpeg format to see if that helps. I originally saved it in png and it has a transparent background, so that could be the reason it's doing that. I'll email you when I get them done. :)

No problem at all! :) Oh, for the Amercan mickey head, I have a few of those can you please describe the one you need? Thanks! :)

I sent you an email of the ghosts. :goodvibes

It's the American flag #4 I think the file says Amflagmh4, It has a few red & white stripes on the lower right side and stars in blue on the rest of the head, but not the ears. The stars are NOT the same placement as the flag's stars... more of a random placement!

Thanks again for reformatting for me!! :flower3::dance3::banana:
